Natalie Portman Is Bad At Catchphrases In New Thor: Love And Thunder Clip

Some of the best heroes have some of the best catchphrases in the MCU. However, it appears as if Natalie Portman and The Mighty Thor have had trouble with catchphrases.

‘Flame on’, ‘Hulk Smash’ and ‘I am Iron Man.’ Every great superhero has an iconic catchphrase. However, Natalie Portman’s new hero, The Mighty Thor, making her bow in the impending Marvel Movie release Thor: Love and Thunder appears to have quite the ways to go before conjuring her own cool catchphrase, comicbook.com reports.

Comicbook.com’s report refers to Tessa Thompson’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where the actress who plays Valkyrie in Thor: Love and Thunder, was promoting the movie with the help of a promo clip. In the clip, Natalie Portman’s The Mighty Thor is seen discussing a plan to stop the villain Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, director/actor Taika Waititi’s Kong and of course Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Odinson. The quartet of colourful Marvel heroes decide that perhaps the best course of action is to charge off to the shadow realm, Natalia Portman subsequently utters the words; “If it’s color we need, let’s bring the rainbow” and flies off. Thor immediately queries if this is The Mighty Thor’s new catchphrase, and Valkyrie is quick to say that this is one of many catchphrases and that Portman’s new hero is far better at saving people. The clip can be seen below.

The clip is fizzing with the quirky humour that made Taika Waititi’s first Thor film such a hit and it’s clear that Natalie Portman has fit in seamlessly with this comedic tone. Marvel fans have been a buzz about Natalie Portman’s reappearance in the MCU as The Mighty Thor ever since her re-casting was announced at Comic-Con back in 2019. That buzz has only escalated with the first glimpse of her character in trailers for Thor: Love and Thunder and Natalie Portman’s iconic character poster.

It won’t be long until Marvel fans will be able to see Natalie Portman in action in Thor: Love and Thunder with the film making its US cinema release on July 8. However, journalists who have already had the extraordinary opportunity to see the film have been heaping it with praise. Rotten Tomatoes reports that a variety of writers in film media have been upstanding for the new Thor entry, saying that all the humor, charm, and thrills from Thor: Ragnarok are ever-present, with some critics suggesting this is one of the strongest MCU films to date.

Along with fever-pitch anticipation for Thor: Love and Thunder, Natalie Portman and her failed catchphrases and seeing more of Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt sharing the screen, the rumour-mill is also spinning for what fans might see once in theatres taking all the Marvel Madness in. Some suggestions claim that Thor: Love and Thunder will feature characters from the Eternals flick and maybe even introduce the long-standing Marvel Comics icon Namor. As well as this, some reports suggest that Natalie Portman’s The Mighty Thor may perish in the film, but given how well Natalie Portman and the rest of the cast appear to be getting along in this latest clip (see above), it would be a great shame if this were the case. Fans will know for sure come July 8 and perhaps they may be privy to a stronger Natalie Portman catchphrase too.
