Millie Bobby Brown is only 17 years old, but her career is growing fast. She played Eleven on Stranger Things, led the Netflix movie Enola Holmes, and had a role in the recent blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong. Everyone wants to know what her next big move will be. The actress admitted she’d had talks with Marvel and DC, but hasn’t sounded overly interested in pursuing a superhero role. That may be great news for other projects wanting to lure the young star. In particular, we hear she’s wanted for a role in the new ThunderCats movie.

This rumor comes to us from insider Daniel Richtman, who shared the news with his Patreon page. According to the gossip writer, he hears that both Millie Bobby Brown and Ryan Reynolds are wanted for the upcoming movie. The live-action adaptation of the 1985 cartoon is being helmed by director Adam Wingard, who Brown just worked with on Godzilla vs. Kong. Richtman has been sharing many updates on things he’s heard about the adaptation so far, including that Vin Diesel is looking to get a role in the movie.

Of course, it’s still early. We only just learned that Adam Wingard has signed on to make the film and casting decisions have yet to be made. However, those decisions are happening. While there aren’t many women among the ThunderCats, there is still some question on what role Millie Bobby Brown may be wanted for. The ThunderCats cartoon was on television for two seasons. During the first season, the only adult woman to play would be Cheetara. The character was a noble, a warrior, carried a staff, and was known for being very fast. During season two of the show, they added the healer character Pumyra.

The biggest thing we know about the ThunderCats movie right now is that director Adam Wingard considers it to be a dream project. He told Deadline that he worked on a live-action script for ThunderCats when he was a bored teenager in Alabama. That passion will likely drive him to make careful casting decisions as he moves forward. Choosing an accomplished young actress like Millie Bobby Brown for the part makes sense. It’s unclear, however, whether she’ll be interested.

Many actors may hesitate to take on a live-action ThunderCats after the strange CGI in Cats went over poorly with audiences. However, Wingard has experience with CGI, as we’ve seen in Godzilla vs. Kong. He was also quick to tell Deadline that he has a vision for how to handle the humanoid catlike aliens. While Millie Bobby Brown has been in science fiction productions, playing an alien would be a change from her past roles. Perhaps the young actress will be up for the challenge.

Currently, the actress is attached to two upcoming projects. One is a drama, called The Thing About Jellyfish. The other is a thriller called The Girls I’ve Been, based on the novel by Tess Sharpe. While many current rumors suggest that Millie Bobby Brown will sign on for more science fiction projects soon, her career is just starting. It seems like these recent projects suggest she may be looking to avoid being typecast after her years as the powerful young character Eleven. Right now, she’s definitely a popular talent. We’ll have to wait and see what she decides to officially pursue.
