Millie Bobby Brown would love to portray Britney Spears on screen if the pop icon would approve.

The biopic is a dream role for most stars, getting to tell the story of their heroes and live out a different life than their usual. Millie Bobby Brown is no exception, as the star of Stranger Things and Enola Holmes was quoted on The Drew Barrymore Show Monday per EW, “I want to play a real person, and I think, for me, Britney. [It] would be Britney Spears. I think her story, first of all, resonates with me.”

While Britney’s story isn’t any secret, a Millie Bobby Brown-led adaptation would be the first time anyone has really seen it portrayed in any form outside of tabloids or documentaries. Spears had a very public moment of vulnerability in 2006 after a break in her mental health, leading to being placed under a conservatorship by her family. Everything came to a head last year, when the conservatorship was ended after a lengthy and public court battle.

While Britney’s life has certainly been tumultuous, she’s shown resiliency and risen from the ashes time and time again, becoming a major inspiration for anyone who wants to be their true, authentic self while making the world better. It’s a story that truly inspires Millie Bobbie Brown. The young star rose to fame along with the rest of her younger Stranger Things costars when the Netflix hit premiered in 2016.

Before this, she was taking on child actor roles in series such as Once Upon a Time and small parts in Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family. She broke out after her first season portrayal of Eleven on Stranger Things, a child escapee with dangerous powers. This shared history of being raised in the spotlight is most likely what draws Millie Bobby Brown into the role of Britney, as well as their shared experiences of being targets of online bullying and harassment.

Britney Spears notably suffered when a large amount of her life and mental health issues were broadcast online in the burgeoning days of celeb gossip sites. Though not nearly as public as Spears, Millie Bobby Brown has faced her own trials over the years, most notably leaving twitter not long after the first season of Stranger Things premiered in 2016. The star was the target of bullying and faked screenshots attributing slurs to her.

Millie Bobby Brown abandoned the platform soon thereafter. While there’s nothing official yet, there’s certainly a good possibility a Britney Spears movie (or series, fingers crossed) could happen. Millie Bobby Brown is at full steam with her role in Stranger Things gaining widespread acclaim before the fifth and final season is due to release in the next couple of years. Brown has built her repertoire in the past six years with movies like the Enola Holmes series on Netflix, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters for Legendary.

Aside from Millie Bobby Brown, the Princess of Pop, meanwhile, has been taking it easy and enjoying her life after being freed from her conservatorship. Spears has been very public since the ruling, sharing how happy she is with her Instagram followers and sharing intimate details of her struggles and triumphs. Spears has most recently signed a $15 million dollar book deal for her forthcoming biography, and rolled back into the music scene on a duet with Sir Elton John.
