According to Flix Patrol, Mickey Rourke’s new action flick The Commando is #1 on Hulu in the United States.

The Commando is a home invasion thriller about a DEA agent (Michael Jai White) who returns home only to find himself entangled in a battle against a recently released criminal (Mickey Rourke) and his crew. When his daughter discovers a stash of money in their house that belongs to a ring of dangerous criminals, they will stop at nothing to retrieve their cash.

Rourke’s role in The Commando as criminal Johnny sees him utilizing his expertise in physical combat. The trailer shows him casually fighting off a number of inmates before going to retrieve his stash of money. The film showcases Rourke’s gritty persona and grizzled delivery for this villainous antagonist.

The film’s #1 ranking on Hulu shows that it has garnered some commercial success. From a critical perspective, the film seems to be a far cry from Rourke’s more acclaimed works. The film currently has a 22% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 3.3/10 on IMDB.

Mickey Rourke’s career has taken a number of twists and turns. Rourke has gone from boxing to acting, to boxing, to another eventual return to acting. Both facets of his career have shaped the actor in many ways.

Rourke began his career as an amateur boxer at the Miami Boys and Girls Club. He went on to compile an impressive amateur boxing record of 27 wins and 3 defeats. It was during this time that he began exploring acting, joining the Acting Studio.

Mickey Rourke debuted in a feature film in Steven Spielberg’s 1941 after appearing in a number of television films in the late 70s. His roles in Body Heat and in Angel Heart garnered him critical attention, with Angel Heart being nominated for a number of awards. Unfortunately, Rourke’s erratic persona and personal life began clouding his professional career, which took a downturn in the late 80s, and early 90s.

It was at this time that Rourke returned to the ring. Rourke’s professional boxing career led to an undefeated record but left him with a number of serious injuries. Ultimately, the toll on his body left his face altered permanently, something for which he needed a number of reconstructive surgeries to correct.

After his boxing career, Mickey Rourke made a return to acting. At first, he had a number of supporting roles in films like Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of John Grisham’s The Rainmaker, Animal Factory, and Get Carter

It wasn’t until 2005 that he had a starring role in Frank Miller’s Sin City and it was this role that brought him back to critical success. Then, Rourke’s starring role in Darren Aronofsy’s The Wrestler in 2008 led to a crowning achievement in the actor’s career. Rourke’s portrayal of past-his-prime wrestler Randy “The Ram” Robinson led to a BAFTA award, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

Although it may not be Rourke’s best role or most critically claimed, The Commando has found success on Hulu. Viewers who are interested can watch the film on Hulu streaming services.
