Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is reportedly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as none other than herself in one of its most highly anticipated upcoming TV shows

Since the launch of the Disney+ streaming service, the Mouse House has been promising users and fans of its Marvel franchise that it will play home to exclusive new content on par with any of its films like Guardians of the Galaxy or The Avengers. So far, it’s made good on its promise with shows like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Now it is reportedly enlisting Megan Thee Stallion for a recurring role in She-Hulk

The rumor comes from the Everything Always YouTube channel. Host and curator, Michael Roman, released a video earlier this week announcing that sources close to the development of Disney and Marvel’s TV plans reported that Megan Thee Stallion will appear in the upcoming series and that it will be more than a Stan Lee-style cameo. The Savage songstress will reportedly show up as herself in multiple episodes of the 10-episode series.

Furthermore, she won’t be playing a character plucked from the depths of Marvel Comics. Instead, Megan Thee Stallion will simply be playing herself, a massively successful musician known the world over for hits like WAP, Hot Girl Summer, and Cry Baby

However, Roman noted that so far any rumors of Megan Thee Stallion joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe are just that — rumors. Until Marvel addresses the topic directly, everything must be taken with a grain of salt.

Still, it would make sense for Megan Thee Stallion to agree to lend her persona to the female-centric TV show based on one of Marvel’s most beloved comic books. She has noted in the past that she is indeed an anime and superhero fan. In fact, she lent her song Diamonds to the 2020 DC Extended Universe film Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). She also appeared in the music video for the track alongside Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie, which put the rapper on the set of the film and even featured additional footage from the finished product.

Megan Thee Stallion released her first studio album in 2020 titled Good News. However, she had been on the music scene since roughly 2016 thanks to singles of her own as well as collaborations with established artists like Nicky Minaj, Beyonce, and Maroon 5.

If the rumors of her casting in She-Hulk are true, it would put Megan Thee Stallion on-screen with previously announced cast members such as Orphan Black actress Tatiana Maslany, who will play the title hero, as well as former Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who has signed on to play the series’ principal antagonist, Titania.

As for what kind of world Megan Thee Stallion will be joining with She-Hulk, the comic book character is the cousin of Bruce Banner, whose Marvel Cinematic Universe counterpart Mark Ruffalo has also signed on to appear in the series. When she is forced to get a blood transfusion from her Hulked-out cousin, she gains a lighter version of his same rage-based powers. When she’s not smashing, she works as a lawyer to superheroes, only busting out her powers when the legal system fails. Sadly, there is currently no release date available for eager Megan Thee Stallion fans to mark in their calendars.
