For comedian Keegan-Michael Key, Key & Peele was a dream project that produced hilarious bits and sketches that have so far stood the test of time. Keegan-Michael Key specifically crafted a character named Mr. Garvey for the Comedy Central series, and the character’s personal touches come from his inability to do roll calls for his students, butchering their names in the process. According to a report by MovieWeb, it appears that Paramount+ has dropped a new video of Keegan-Michael Key reprising his role of Mr. Garvey to Twitter to promote the streamer’s characters and television shows in their library under the tagline of “A Mountain of Entertainment.”

In the new clip of Keegan-Michael Key as Mr. Garvey that was uploaded to social media today, a new roll call appears to be in effect and Mr. Garvey is continuing his trend of mispronouncing names, but this time they are all of the characters currently residing on Paramount+. Many of these characters as part of “A Mountain of Entertainment” are Dora the Explorer, Blaze, Krumm, and Mr. Garvey himself. Key & Peele is currently available for streaming on Paramount+ alongside hit shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race and SpongeBob SquarePants.

The bit showing Keegan-Michael Key as Mr. Garvey has been viewed on Twitter more than 347,000 times since Paramount+ released it today. At the end of the video, the famous “A-A-Ron” part of the sketch comes up again, calling back to Key & Peele that first debuted on Comedy Central back in 2012. The sketch series lasted on the cable network for five seasons and concluded in 2015, which helped to launch the writing and directing career of horror helmer Jordan Peele.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele starred on Key & Peele after a successful partnership as a comedy duo on several seasons of the sketch comedy series Mad TV. The two had costarred in Keanu alongside Tiffany Haddish before Peele went on to direct hit films like Get Out, Us, and Nope, while Key joined the casts of Parks and Recreation and the 2022 comedy show Reboot.

For their time on Key & Peele, both Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele earned critical acclaim for writing and acting on the series, eventually netting the talented pair the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

Using Keegan-Michael Key as his famous character of Mr. Garvey might prove to be a worthwhile advertising effort on the part of Paramount+, just as the subscription streaming service is gearing up to show how many classic television series are on the platform. In addition to the wildly successful Key & Peele, Paramount+ is now the home to some old-school favorites, including Cheers, Star Trek, MacGyver, Twin Peaks, and CSI: Miami. The streamer is also well-known for featuring Paramount Pictures films and a stunning collection in its catalog, which includes many of the Star Trek series of movies, as well as original programming like new South Park specials and a television series adaptation of the popular video game franchise, Halo.
