The less we know about a Marvel project, the more the rumors will fly. The upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is a perfect example. All we knew for sure was that Jon Watts of Spider-Man fame was attached to direct, and since he exited the project we know even less. One of the many casting rumors out there is that Jurassic World: Dominion star Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman. Recently, a fan approached her about the rumor in a very interesting way, forcing her to react.

In a TikTok posted a little less than a week ago by Andres Navy, the TikTokker doesn’t ask Howard whether or not she’s going to be in Fantastic Four. Instead, he just puts a couple of Invisible Woman Funko Pops in front of the actress and asks her to sign the boxes. You can see how Howard reacts in the video below.

Bryce Dallas Howard reacts to the collectibles with laughter. While she doesn’t completely debunk the casting, she does seem to try to cast a lot of doubt on it. “I don’t think it’s happening,” Howard says. “I mean, I know [this doesn’t] involve me or anything. I swear to God, I swear to God.” She goes on to say she’ll happily sign the Funko boxes “just for fun.” When asked directly about the reports she’ll be in Fantastic Four, Howard calls them “total rumors.” Of course, in a post-No Way Home world, what can we believe?

Whether or not she appears in Fantastic Four, Bryce Dallas Howard already has one iconic Marvel role under her belt, though it was pre-MCU. In 2007’s Spider-Man 3 sHoward played Peter Parker’s new love interest Gwen Stacy. Of course, she didn’t end up having quite as tragic a time as Emma Stone would as the character in the Andrew Garfield-led trilogy. Though she did have to endure Tobey Maguire’s evil My-Chemical-Spider-Man dance number, but then again… who didn’t?

One of the first names to come up as a replacement director since the announcement of Jon Watts’ departure was John Krasinski, and the reasons aren’t mysterious. The A Quiet Place director has long been fan-cast as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, and he wound up playing the Earth-838 version of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Since he’s already proven his skill in the director’s chair with the A Quiet Place films, fans took to social media to call for his hiring soon after Watts’ exit.

We’ve had our own exclusive reports that Marvel is looking to gender swap one of the traditional members of the Fantastic Four in order to even up the gender ratio of the team. If that’s the case, then Bryce Dallas Howard may very well find herself not playing the Invisible Woman but possibly the Human Torch. Or the Thing. Or, you never know, Mrs. Fantastic?
