Titans is gearing up for its fourth season on HBO Max and they are starting to round out the new cast additions for this next set of stories. One major addition announced this week (via Variety) is Joseph Morgan joining the DC group as one of the primary villains/ antagonists for this next season. It’s a cool move for the actor seeing as he’ll get back to some more evil roots in his acting career. There is a chance he is at the center of the story for this season, especially around the character he is set to play.

For the fourth season of DC’s Titans, Joseph Morgan will play Brother Blood, who will start off the show known as Sebastian Blood. But if the comic books are any indication, Morgan will become a pretty bad dude pretty quickly. In those versions, Brother Blood is a cult leader/ priest who derives power from his followers. There is some chance Titans explores this aspect of the story with Blood gaining power as the season moves forward. Additionally, in the comic books, there’s a quasi-vampire vibe to the Brother Blood character considering he can take on the powers of those whose blood he samples. Good chance, this becomes a major problem for the Titans.

Joseph Morgan joining Titans continues a successful early-career run for the actor who has been part of a number of higher-profile productions over the last few years. His real, first big break came on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries where he was a major cast member for seasons three and four while recurring at other points in the timeline. He played Klaus Mikaelson, one of the original vampires who was working to build a hybrid army. But after season four, he left the show to star in the spin-off series The Originals where he reprised the role. That series acted as a prequel, setting itself in the French Quarter during the early 20th century. It lasted four seasons.

And his last series was the NBC PeacockTV adaptation of Brave New World. Based on the novel by Aldous Huxley, the series explores a futuristic and dystopian world that flaunts itself as perfect but hides a more sinister backbone. Joseph Morgan plays CJack60, an Epsilon class of workers in that society. Those are the lowest class in this world, though his character has something of a breakthrough that becomes a key point in the series. Unfortunately, Brave New World lasted only one season on the streamer before being canceled.

Titans enters its fourth season on HBO Max, following the story of the titular group which includes Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/ Nightwing, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teegan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy. Later season additions include the introduction of Curran Walters as Jason Todd/ Robin/ Red Hood, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Conor Leslie as Wonder Girl among many others. The show has done an excellent job at bringing on a whole host of DC characters into the mix. Joseph Morgan as Brother Blood will join the ranks of villains on the show which has included Scarecrow, The Joker, Deathstroke, and Trigon.

While a fourth season has been announced for DC’s Titans, there is no scheduled release date as of this writing.
