While Johnny Depp hasn’t had many chances to flex his acting muscles lately, he’s been able to keep his music career alive and well. Now it looks like Depp will be hitting the road and touring with the supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which consists of Depp, Alice Cooper, Tommy Henriksen, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. The group will be playing various shows in Germany and Luxembourg next summer, with the first show in Oberhausen on June 20, 2023.

Before hitting the road with the Hollywood Vampires next year, Johnny Depp will rejoin Jeff Beck on the road for the rest of this year’s summer tours. Depp had previously been touring with Beck before his trial with Amber Heard. Depp will continue performing with Beck until his tour wraps up at the end of July in Paris. Depp is also featured on Beck’s next album, which is a collaboration between the two. The album, 18, mostly consists of cover songs, but it will also feature two original songs written by Depp. One song titled “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr,” is a single off the album and is currently available to stream. The song pays tribute to the actress Hedy Lamarr, who passed away in 2000. Depp has one other writing contribution on the record. The album is set to release in full on July 15.

Johnny Depp will likely have a lot more time for acting and music now that his ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard has seemingly come to a pause for the moment. The actor sued Heard for defamation based on an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018. Heard countersued in turn. The very public legal battle between the two ended in Depp’s favor, with the court awarding him damages for his suit. Heard was also awarded damages for one out of three of her filed suits, but Depp’s monetary awards were significantly greater.

The legal battle has had ramifications for both actors. Amber Heard is set to appear in the upcoming Aquaman sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, though the fan pushback has been significant, with a petition against her appearing in the role getting more signatures by the day. Though Heard had testified in court that her role had been pared down, it appears that Warner Bros are making minimal adjustments to her appearance in the movie. Depp, on the other hand, lost roles in both the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise since the drama between Heard and him began in 2018.

Johnny Depp does have one big movie role coming up with Jeanne du Barry, where he’ll be playing Louis XV. The movie will tell the story of Jeanne du Barry, who rose through the courts to become Louis XV’s last mistress. Maiwenn stars in the titular role and also directs. The movie will also star Louis Garrel, Pierre Richard, and Noemie Lvovsky. There is no word on a release date for Jeanne du Barry yet.
