John Cena

For anyone who thought John Cena couldn’t pull off a skirt, you’re about to be proven wrong. The wrestler-turned-actor was recently spotted by TMZ filming a scene for the upcoming film Ricky Stanicky. Besides pulling of the skirt with aplomb, Cena clearly can also handle strutting in a pair of heels:

Ricky Stanicky is a film directed by Peter Farrelly that follows three men who have been using a fake scapegoat named “Ricky Stanicky” to get out of uncomfortable situations. However, when their wives demand to meet Ricky, they have to hire an actor to play the man who has taken the blame for all their transgressions over the past 20 years. The comedy stars John Cena, Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, William H. Macy, Anja Savcic, Andrew Santino, and Lex Scott Davis.

There’s no release date set for Ricky Stanicky yet, so this screenshot of John Cena in a skirt will have to do for now. In the meantime, you can also catch a glimpse of Cena in the recetenly released trailer for the upcoming blockbuster Fast X. Cena reprises his role in a film that will see Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) and the rest of the Fast family ruthlessly pursued by a dangerous threat from the past (Jason Momoa).

F9: The Fast Saga was one of John Cena’s biggest roles when he debuted as Jakob Torretto, Dominic’s long-lost brother. It will be great to see him return along with other returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. Hopefully, Cena’s character survives so we can see him in the follow-up to Fast X.

Fast X is going to be the first of a two-part ending of the mainline Fast and Furious franchise. Of course, if John Cena’s Jakob survives, there’s always the chance that he could get a spin-off. We’ll get to find out when Fast X hits theaters on May 19.

John Cena in Peacemaker

Even if John Cena doesn’t get a spin-off from his Fast and Furious role, he’ll get to continue enjoying his spin-off from 2021’s The Suicide Squad. Cena gave one of his best performances in the first season of the HBO Max series Peacemaker, which is officially going to get a second season. While the DCU faced a ton of cuts, Peacemaker came out the other side unscathed.

It’s not too surprising that Peacemaker survived the content purge, considering it was created by new DCU head James Gunn. Gunn unveiled extensive plans for the upcoming projects in his DCU, and it’s very possible that John Cena could have a big part of it. Peacemaker is easily one of the best live-action DC projects in recent memory, so it’s probably safe to say that nobody is upset about getting more.

As of now, John Cena has four projects expected to drop sometime in 2023. We should see him in Fast X next, but his Coyote v. Acme project is due to come out on July 21. His films Argylle and Snafu currently don’t have release dates, but we’ll keep you updated on the latest Cena news.
