If you don’t look at least a little bit weirder then it isn’t really the future, is it? Joe Manganiello is no exception. The True Blood star has a brand new series set in the future, and he’s sporting a new look for the role. You can see it for yourself in the new teaser for AMC+’s Moonhaven.

Released on Monday, the Moonhaven teaser is only 15 seconds long, but it uses its time well. The preview opens with a plant somehow sprouting out of an astronaut’s footprint on the surface of the Moon. We then see the Moon from a greater distance, with a piece of its surface seemingly transformed into a green, verdant paradise. Then we meet some of the series’ stars, including Joe Manganiello. The Justice League star delivers the only dialogue in the teaser — “See you on the Moon.” — to someone offscreen we can’t make out. Manganiello has a new mohawk, and a futuristic-looking black leather jacket. You can watch the teaser below.

Along with Joe Manganiello, the teaser gives us shots of other actors from the series. We see Amara Karan (The Darjeeling Limited) in some kind of high-tech looking compartment, Emma McDonald (The Picture of Dorian Gray) sneaking through a forest, and Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) looking up as he stands on a dock. You can see shots of them all below.

As reported by Collider, Moonhaven will premiere exclusively on AMC+ on Thursday, June 30. The story is set in the 22nd century, when a community has somehow managed to build a utopian society on The Moon. Meanwhile, on the Earth, humanity is nearing catastrophe. McDonald’s character will apparently be the protagonist. She will play Bella Sway, a smuggler who finds herself trapped in the titular community and eventually “wrapped up in a conspiracy” to destroy it.

According to Deadline‘s announcement last year about Manganiello’s casting in the series, it will be Dominic Monaghan’s character Paul Serno — a detective — who Bella Sway joins forces with. Joe Manganiello will play Tomm Schultz, a former military man who works closely with Earth’s diplomat on the Moon. Schultz’s plans apparently change after taking a mind-altering drug.

In recent days, Joe Manganiello has been making more and more strides on the voice acting side of his career. A good percentage of his most recent credits include roles in animated series like Big City Greens and American Dad!, or animated features like Koati. In fact, the Deathstroke actor will soon be reunited with Zack Snyder for the animated Army of the Dead spin-off series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.

There are also reports that Joe Manganiello may soon be reprising the role he just barely scratched the surface of. The actor appeared as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in a post-credits scene for 2017’s Justice League, in a brand new sequence for last year’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and was originally meant to act as the antagonist when Ben Affleck was attached to The Batman. In spite of what seems like everything working against him ever getting to take a real crack at the part, Manganiello posted an image (above) of himself as Deathstroke to his Instagram in February, leading to speculation that he might finally get his shot.
