Jensen Ackles is insanely jacked and looks totally different in preparing for The Boys.

For the bulk of his career, Jensen Ackles has kept to the small screen. He is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in the long-running hit Supernatural which lasted 15 seasons. Ackles is ready to step out of Winchester’s shoes and if the latest training video he posted is any indication, he’s well on his way.

Jensen Ackles is going all-in for his training to become the superhero Soldier Boy. As evidenced by his Instagram post, Ackles (if that is him under the wild beard) has been working hard to sculpt the perfect superhero look. Check it out right here.

Even better than the workout clip is the caption Jensen Ackles included, calling out Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Grant Gustin (Flash) as well as any other “Supe,” telling them: “Okay @stephenamell , @grantgust and all you other Supes out there…I’m beginning to understand the struggle. Or maybe I’m just too old for this crap.” Well, from what we can tell, age is not a factor.

It was back in August 2020 when The Boys executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke announced that Jensen Ackles will be joining the sex-filled, gore-filled hit superhero series. Actually, even before Kripke could get the words out, Ackles himself posted a video teasing his next adventure as the 15-year run of Supernatural was coming to a close.

Jensen Ackles taking on the role of Solider Boy is nonetheless a big deal. It is an even bigger one since Kripe was also the creator of Supernatural. His 15-year relationship with Ackles is one of the big reasons he brought Ackles over as Solider Boy, a superhero who in many ways mirrors Marvel’s Captain America. Here’s what Kripe had to say, tongue-in-cheek, about Ackles joining The Boys. “When I was a child, I had a crazy, impossible dream — to provide Jensen Ackles with gainful employment,” he wrote via Slash Film. “I’m happy to say that dream has come true…Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the very first Superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural to The Boys.”

In Kripe fashion, he also posted a picture of Jensen Ackles arriving at his trailer on the set of The Boys with a classic caption, “Enter #SoldierBoy. BUCKLE UP MOTHERFUCKERS.”

While appearing as Dean Winchester in Supernatural wasn’t a completely wholesome, clean-cut role for Jensen Ackles, his portrayal of Solider Boy may take him, as well as his fans, to uncomfortable places, to say the least. As described, Solider Boy, while being a superhero, is easily frightened and definitely weak-willed. For him to join the Seven, he has sex with Homelander (Anthony Starr). Then there is also “Herogasm”, a sex-filled event that is big in the comics and one that Kripe says is happening as it has been approved for Season 3.

What exactly is Herogasm? Well, in the comics, it’s basically an orgy for superheroes and as Garth Ennis drew it up, it was a six-issue series, it was highly sexually graphic in nature that introduced Soldier Boy to the world of The Boys. How far Amazon is willing to let Kripke go remains to be seen and while the series has never shied away from the naughty or the gross, even combining the two, Herogasm takes superhero sex to levels never imagined. Trust us.

Looking at his workout video, it appears Jensen Ackles is more than ready to wear the superhero outfit of Soldier Boy. The question remains if Ackles has what it takes to perform in Herogasm. Season 3 of The Boys will be one interesting viewing.

There is no premiere date for Season 3 at the moment but look for it to mirror Season 2. If you recall, all eight episodes of Season 1 were released on one single day for binging pleasure. Season 2 moved away from that, going with the once-a-week release, to the chagrin of many. Season 3 looks to be following Season 2’s footsteps, which means fans will have to wait a few episodes before they get their chance to see superheroes work out their carnal frustrations.
