Home invasions can happen at any time to any one. Celebrities are particularly at risk, with stalkers and fans lurking in their bushes. This time it was Hunger Games superstar actress Jennifer Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney who got a big surprise when an intruder walked right into their L.A. home.

According to a TMZ report, local law enforcement says the frightening incident happened on March 15 in the evening around 9:15 pm.  An unidentified woman walked right into Lawrence’s home through the unlocked front door. Why the front door was unlocked is a good question, chances are both Lawrence and Maroney won’t make that same mistake any time soon.

Per the Page Six sources, the intruder was a 23-year old fan who said she “simply” wanted to meet the famous actress.

Now here is where it gets a little murky as there are two reports to how this incident ended. The first being that the intruder made her way in and was restrained by both Lawrence and Maroney until security and police arrived.

The second report is that it’s unclear whether Maroney was even in the home at the time of the incident and that Lawrence’s security team stopped the intruder inside the home, keeping her detained until the police arrived.

The female intruder was placed under arrest for misdemeanor trespassing by officers responding to the call and they took her away without further incident. Reportedly, the young woman was a fan and when asked why she let herself into the home she stated she wanted to meet Lawrence.

As peaceful as an ending as this turned out to be, it was a home invasion and could have turned out much more different. The intruder is lucky she wasn’t met with deadly force and for Lawrence’s part, she is very lucky the intruder’s stated intention was just that.

This is one of many instances in which home invasions have claimed celebrities as victims. Last month 20-year old rap star Pop Smoke was shot and killed inside his Hollywood Hills estate early one Wednesday morning. At the time, Smoke was renting the home from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp. Police officers arrived at the home around 5 am after they had received a 911 claiming that armed men had stormed the house.

When police arrived, they found Smoke with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police had detained several people from inside the house, but they were later released. Police were told from those inside that two to six murder suspects fled and so far, have not been found.

Home invasions among celebrities is not a rare occurrence. Being an entertainer, in any field, has its drawbacks. Just ask mega-director Quentin Tarantino. He was busy working on his hit movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood when two burglars broke into his home. He was able to confront the two, who had snagged some of his jewelry, but he was unable to stop them as they got away. Police have been able to look through Tarantino’s surveillance cameras in hopes they can catch the suspects.
