Isabelle Fuhrman’s career as an actor goes all the way back to 2006, when she starred as Grace O’Neil in the pilot episode of the television series Justice. She is probably best known for portraying Esther in the 2009 horror flick Orphan as well as this year’s follow-up Orphan: First Kill. The latter was revealed to be a prequel that is every bit as shocking as its predecessor, with a twist that is sure to leave viewers’ jaws on the floor. Now, according to MovieWeb, the actress has landed a role in the Kevin Costner-directed drama Horizon.

Covering a 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West, Horizon is a feature that will be experienced through the eyes of many. Kevin Costner will direct and star in the project alongside Isabelle Fuhrman, which is an epic production consisting of three films. Each movie will be released every three months or so. Costner penned the script with Jon Baird, and he’ll serve as a producer through his Territory Pictures Entertainment.

Isabelle Fuhrman’s role in the project has not yet been revealed, but she’ll join a star-studded cast that includes Jamie Campbell Bower, Sienna Miller, Jena Malone, Luke Wilson, Sam Worthington, Michael Rooker, Thomas Haden Church, Chase Ramsey, and Alejandro Edda. Although a release date hasn’t been announced, production was scheduled to begin last month in Utah and set to span 220 days.

Although we likely won’t see the release of Horizon for quite some time, Isabelle Fuhrman has plenty of other recent projects that are worth checking out. Orphan: First Kill is currently streaming exclusively on Paramount+. On Rotten Tomatoes, the prequel is faring much better with critics than 2009’s Orphan. The actress returns as Esther, who after orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. It’s not hard to guess what happens from there, particularly if you’ve seen the first movie.

Last year, Isabelle Fuhrman appeared as Claire in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, the sequel to the 2019 thriller that grossed $155 million at the global box office. And although the actress turns in an incredibly convincing performance as a child in the Orphan horror franchise, Fuhrman is actually 25 years old. The star recently made waves with her role in the 2021 thriller The Novice, where she was nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award for her performance and took home a Tribeca Film Festival win. In The Novice, where she played a college freshman who joins her university’s rowing team and undertakes an obsessive physical and psychological journey to make it to the top varsity boat, no matter the cost.

In addition to Horizon, Isabelle Fuhrman is attached to several other upcoming projects. She’s currently filming scenes for Unit 234 and another film called Littlemouth. The actress will also show up in the mini-series The Edge of Seventeen, which is a spin-off show of the 2016 feature of the same name. According to MovieWeb, the actress revealed that she’s been approached about a third film in the Orphan franchise, saying “I’ve already been asked about Orphan 3 from the team, so maybe, you never know. I feel like we’re not going to wait 13 years this time around, though.”
