Henry Cavill’s Superman Suit In Black Adam Revealed

According to a report from a leaker, Henry Cavill will be in Black Adam as Superman and he'll wear his iconic blue-and-red suit, as opposed to the black suit from Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Henry Cavill will appear as Superman in Black Adam and he’ll be wearing his classic blue-and-red suit; that’s the word from the leaker Syl Abdul. This means he will not be wearing the black suit fans saw in last year’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Some fans are speculating this means that the Joss Whedon helmed Justice League is officially considered canon over Snyder’s version; which they don’t really need to speculate about because that was confirmed way back when the so-called Snyder Cut was released.

Abdul’s report on Henry Cavill’s return as Superman states not only that the actor will have a cameo in Black Adam in his classic blue-and-red suit, but that he’s attached to two “solo projects” as well. Abdul isn’t the only leaker to report Cavill’s appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s entry into the DCEU either. Last week the Twitter leaker MyTimeToShineHello tweeted more alleged details, writing that Cavill’s Black Adam cameo will be accompanied by the classic John Williams score from the ’70s and ’80s Superman films, and that he will greet Teth-Adam with “We need to talk Black Adam.”

In spite of fans like Geekosity‘s Mikey Sutton speculating about whether or not this means Zack Snyder’s Justice League isn’t canon–which, again, is unnecessary because it was 100% never canon–Henry Cavill wearing a blue-and-red suit rather than the black one really doesn’t signify anything. In the comics, Superman is understandably not quite in top form when he’s first resurrected and he wears the black suit because it’s specifically designed to attract as much of the Earth’s Sun’s energy as possible in order to get him back into shape. So even if Zack Snyder’s Justice League were canon–which, again, it isn’t and never was–it could be simply explained with the notion that he didn’t need the boost anymore.

If the reports of Henry Cavill’s Superman return in Black Adam are to be believed, it could very well mean that we’re one step closer to the Black Adam/Superman clash Dwayne Johnson has practically been begging for. It was almost a year ago to the month that Johnson started smack-talking the Man of Steel on Twitter, saying that in a fight between the two Black Adam would have the edge over Superman because, between the two of them, Adam would be the only one fighting for the kill (we know he’s from a different time, but maybe Black Adam should watch the end of Man of Steel before he says stuff like that?).

If these reports are true, then the upcoming Black Adam is bound to end with fans rabid for a follow-up. A clash between Henry Cavill’s Superman and Dwayne Johnson‘s Black Adam would and should be epic in every sense of the word. Throw Zachary Levi’s Shazam into the mix, and you’ve got a dust-up that’s likely to take out a continent or two.
