See The First Look At Harley Quinn In Her Next Appearance
Harley Quinn is coming back to screens soon with a bunch of her friends and we have the first look at the chaos.
Paul Dini has become something of a legend in the comic book community. He is particularly popular in the halls of DC for his contributions to the lore in the last few decades. On top of penning the storylines for the popular video games Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, he co-created two of the most beloved DC characters in the 90s, Terry McGinnis and Harley Quinn. While the former got his own show in Batman Beyond early on, Quinn served as a sidekick to The Joker for a long time. Thanks to the popularity of the character brought on by Margot Robbie, Warner Brothers and HBO Max brought an animated series to life. Now, fans got an exciting first look at the long-awaited third season in the form of a poster.
The official Harley Quinn Instagram released a poster for the third season. The poster sees Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) sitting on a swing in the woods, where the latter feels right at home. Harley is wearing a version of her Paul Dini costume from the original appearing in Batman: The Animated Series, while Ivy is in a floral dress and crown. It is hard to look at it and not think about the wedding Harley busted up between Ivy and Kite Man (Matt Oberg). Surrounding the duo are other villains such as Bane (James Adomian) and King Shark (Ron Funches). In the background, Batman (Diedrich Bader) and Commissioner James Gordon (Christopher Meloni) stand and look with trepidation. The post’s caption states, “Sometimes two wrongs make a right.”
The post has received a whopping 53,000 plus likes at the time of writing this. DC Comics’ official Instagram account commented that July 28 (the release date for Season 3) could not come soon enough. Other comments claim Harley and Ivy are all they need, marking their calendars and even asking why time isn’t moving faster. It is clear that the hype for Harley Quinn Season 3 is through the roof, and it isn’t hard to see why.
In a conversation with Comic Book, showrunners Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern laid out some glimpses as to what the fans can expect from the third installment of the show. The two things they hinted at that were definitely on the table for the viewers to see are Gordon grappling with the low approval ratings for the Gotham Police Department and the origins and background of Poison Ivy. They said they were committed to avoiding the “will they break up or will they not break up” trope between Harley Quinn and Ivy. So fans of the duo can rest easy; while they will most certainly face conflict, their relationship isn’t going anywhere.
Also, during a Q&A on the official Harley Quinn account, the pair revealed even more about the upcoming season. They revealed there would be a Joker episode titled “Wait Until They Get a Load of Us” and a Batman episode diving into the mind of The Dark Knight. With the introduction of more DC characters, including Dick Grayson’s Nightwing and the Court of Owls, fans have a ton to look forward to in Season 3.
