Halle Berry Has The Perfect Reaction To Having The #1 Movie On Netflix
Academy Award (and Razzie) Winner Halle Berry has the number one movie on Netflix right now, and she sure had a reaction.
It hasn’t been that long since 2013’s The Call became available on Netflix. Starring Halle Berry, the psychological thriller was a hit with fans upon its release, earning over $68 million at the global box office. Now, since being added to the streamer’s catalog on April 10th, it’s become the most popular movie on the streaming platform. And the film’s star is letting everyone know how she feels about it.
In a post on social media, Halle Berry shared her thoughts about The Call being the most-watched movie on Netflix in the United States. In a confused tone, the Catwoman star asked her followers if they were doing all right after hearing the news. “So… The Call is the No. 1 movie on Netflix right now. Nearly 10 years after its release,” she wrote. “Are y’all OK?” the actress followed the quip with a laughing emoji.

Although the 55-year-old seemed shocked about her movie’s viewer rankings, it’s not really surprising. The Call was a solid movie back in the day and now, a new generation gets to see it. Directed by Brad Anderson from a script by Richard D’Ovidio, The Call followed the intense story of a troubled 911 operator (Halle Berry) who takes a call from a teenage girl named Casey Welson after she’s been kidnapped by a serial killer.
During the film’s promotion, a special screening was held at the Women’s International Film Festival. Although The Call received mixed reviews from critics, Halle Berry and Breslin earned lots of praise for their performances. The movie also earned the Swordfish alum nominations for Choice Movie Actress in a Drama at the Teen Choice Awards and Best Actress at the BET Awards.
While she hasn’t been in anything as noteworthy lately, Halle Berry has a couple of new movies on offer. The first is a science fiction disaster film called Moonfall. Directed by Roland Emmerich from a script he co-wrote with Harald Kloser and Spenser Cohen, the story follows three space enthusiasts who discover a secret about the Moon. Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, and Donald Sutherland also star. The film was theatrically released on February 4th but didn’t do so well with viewers or critics.
Another Halle Berry movie currently in the works is The Mothership. Written and directed by Matthew Charman, the project is billed as a science fiction drama film. The story follows Sara Morse, a woman whose husband mysteriously disappeared from their isolated farm one year prior. One day, she discovers a strange, extraterrestrial-looking object beneath their house which sparks her curiosity. Following the incredible find, Sara and her kids embark on an adventure to find their husband and father while uncovering the truth.
Starring alongside Halle Berry as Sara Morse are Sydney Lemmon as Johanna and Rafael Silva as Alex. Molly Parker and Omari Hardwick also appear in the movie. Although filming concluded on August 9, 2021, The Mothership still doesn’t have a release date.
