Reality shows are a huge part of any television network. That is certainly the case for ABC, which is home to one of the most popular reality shows on the planet: Shark Tank. The series is currently about to start its 14th season and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. The series features a panel of millionaires and billionaires, who invest in people’s real-life small businesses. The series has also featured plenty of celebrity guests including names like Kevin Hart, Ashton Kutcher, Jeff Foxworthy, Kendra Scott, and many more. Well, now the tank’s celebrity guest list is about to grow larger, as Gwyneth Paltrow will join the sharks.

Gwyneth Paltrow will be the first celebrity guest as part of Shark Tank Season 14. The hugely popular series will be airing on September 23rd with a live show for the first episode. It makes sense that Paltrow will now be a guest shark on the series, as her lifestyle brand, Goop, has grown massively in the last five years. She began the lifestyle brand back in 2008 and has since taken over CEO duties in 2016. Paltrow was also part of a Shark Tank-type series on AppleTV called, Planet of the Apps. This series had a similar format and focused on Silicon Valley-type startups. Now, Paltrow can take her business expertise to Shark Tank. Hopefully, she is not as mean as Mr. Wonderful.

Shark Tank began back in 2009 and has since birthed a host of international versions. These versions exist in countries like Nepal, Australia, Mexico, and Colombia. The series has grown exponentially and remains a ratings hit in its time slot. Shark Tank is said to have been based on a UK show called Dragon’s Den. In fact, Peter Jones of Dragon’s Den will be one of the guest sharks this season. It’s quite interesting that the show that essentially inspired Shark Tank is now going to be partnering together. Dragon’s Den might not take offense that Shark Tank copied its formula and has grown to be this successful.

Apart from taking on the role of CEO for Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow most recently appeared in the series The Politician is a comedy-drama series that ran for two seasons on Netflix. The series has not yet been picked up for a third. Paltrow also recently appeared on a series called More than a Celebrity, which focuses on those who are both actors and in the world of business. The series has brought on Emma Stone, Apolo Ohno, Kevin Smith, Wyclef Jean, Kathryn Morris, and Jane Levy as other guest speakers.

We are more than excited to see how Gwyneth Paltrow does as a guest shark on Shark Tank Season 14. She does seem like the type of celebrity that won’t be as shrewd as most of the sharks on the series are. However, she is a businesswoman, and she likely needs to speak candidly to those who think their businesses are worth tons of money. Everyone keep your eyes peeled for the episodes that will feature Paltrow as a guest.
