Gwyneth Paltrow's choice of attire for court has caused Twitter users to compare her to Jeffrey Dahmer; honestly, they are not wrong.

Marvel star Gwyneth Paltrow recently appeared in court as a defendant for a trial involving a collision at a ski resort in Utah in which she was involved, but it was her choice of attire that has been circulating in the media. The public has been comparing Paltrow’s aviator-type glasses during the first few days of the trial to those worn by famed serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Although Paltrow probably should’ve left the glasses in the case and opted for a different eyewear look, fans of the look can find the glasses on Goop.

As often is the case, Twitter users have been quick, relentless, and hilarious:

Bill Huffman noted that the look was “Not very on brand for @goop.”

Another user, Haus of Decline, said that her look was like a “yassified Jeffrey Dahmer.”

Stand-up comedian and “Licensed Bootyologist” Lamont Price remarked that Gwyneth Paltrow was “tryna get that Oscar playing Jeffrey Dahmer.”

Even Sports Media Brand OutKick chimed in with a tweet of their own, with a picture of Paltrow side-by-side with a mugshot of Jeffrey Dahmer wearing the infamous glasses. They recommended that the actress “maybe wear contacts.”

The images come from a trial between the actress and retired optometrist Dr. Terry Sanderson. Saunderson is suing Gwyneth Paltrow after a 2016 collision on a slope at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Utah. In his lawsuit, Sanderson claims that the collision with Paltrow left him with a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries.

Obviously, the incident seriously injured Sanderson, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s role in the events should not be taken lightly. Even so, it’s fascinating how Twitter can take even those most minuscule fashion choices like glasses and blow them up into a trending roast session.

Before she was a Marvel star and Goop entrepreneur, Gwyneth Paltrow was best known for her role as Viola de Lesseps in 1998’s historical fiction film Shakespeare in Love.  She is also known for roles in 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley and 2001’s Shallow Hal alongside Jack Black. In 2008 she donned the role of Pepper Potts in Iron Man alongside Robert Downey Jr., in what would become the historic first film and beginning of Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a multi-award-winning actress, winning an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Shakespeare in Love and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her guest role as Holly Holliday on the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee.

Outside of her acting work, Gwyneth Paltrow is the founder and CEO of the lifestyle brand Goop. The brand advocates for using alternative science and holistic practices to maintain a healthy lifestyle, although many have criticized it for promoting various forms of pseudoscience.

Paltrow has been attempting to stay out of the public as of late last year, noting that she is done with acting and staying away from Hollywood. This doesn’t seem to be going so well, as Paltrow was recently part of another controversy when she unveiled her latest diet.

Hopefully, outside of the various media controversies she’s now been involved in, the actress can get some rest and recover. Maybe that downtime will allow her ample opportunity to shop for a new pair of glasses.
