Guardians Of The Galaxy Director James Gunn Just Married One Of His Actresses
Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, married Jennifer Holland, who he met on the set of The Suicide Squad.
Another Hollywood superstar has taken the plunge as a notable director of both Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, James Gunn, has tied the knot with actress Jennifer Holland. The pair met on the set of Gunn’s first installment into the DCEU with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, where Holland played Emelia Harcourt, an analyst working for Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). According to We Got This Covered, both members of the happy couple took to Twitter to document their beautiful day and posted pictures and captions that displayed their shared joy for the occasion.
James Gunn posted about his Peacemaker star that he was lucky enough to marry his best friend and love of his life, posting pictures of a mountainous backdrop. He wore a green suit, white shirt, tie with his signature glasses, grey hair, and beard. Gunn also revealed that his brother, Sean Gunn (who appears in many of his movies, including as a ravager in Guardians of the Galaxy), battled altitude sickness to officiate the wedding.
His new bride, Jennifer Holland, also took to Twitter and posted similar pictures of the ceremony, retweeting James Gunn’s post and calling her Peacemaker director by his new title, husband. Holland wore a white dress with a long sleeve, see-through, lace top, and train. Her hair was pulled back, and her bouquet was filled with various colors, perfectly complimenting the Colorado background. Holland’s matron-of-honor was none other than Gunn’s sister, Beth, and the actress’s brother walked her down the aisle.
The rest of the wedding was a collection of memories that included many stars of Gunn’s films and TV, Funko Pops, and an honest-to-God moose crashing the festivities. James Gunn’s Peacemaker star John Cena was in attendance, along with his Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillem, and Michael Rooker. The wedding had another unexpected guest, as Gunn posted a video of a moose crashing at the beginning of the ceremony, making sure that it didn’t miss the momentous occasion.
The top of the cake was adorned with Funko Pop likenesses of the two, a perfect fit for the couple who is now best known for their entrances into the superhero world. While James Gunn is best known for his Marvel work with the Guardians of the Galaxy, he has recently spurred on his career and revitalized parts of the DCEU with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Jennifer Holland also had a long career before comic book film and TV, but her run in the latter two projects made her more well-known and an integral part of the franchise’s future.
Hollywood isn’t known for the longevity of its relationships, as weddings and divorces seem to make headlines every day, and not necessarily with different names attached. While people like Jennifer Lopez collect engagement rings like Thanos collecting infinity stones and Micky Rooney getting married seemingly every other year, fans can hope that these two break the cycle and make it for the long run. While James Gunn and Jennifer Holland both looked genuinely joyous in their posts, we can bet it isn’t due to Guardians of the Galaxy or Peacemaker Season 2.
