Gina Carano Mandalorian

Gina Carano has been nothing but trouble lately. Recently, she has allegedly blocked users who mentioned “Black Lives Matter” or “BLM,” been called transphobic for making fun of people presenting their gender pronouns in Twitter bios, and pushed conspiracy theories about fraud in the presidential election, as well as questioned mask mandates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this point, Carano is becoming more trouble than she’s worth, which is leading many Mandalorian fans to ask, why not replace Carano with the Frog Lady?

No, the Frog Lady doesn’t have a name. No, she’s not played by some celebrity like Gina Carano. Yes, she’s probably now too busy mourning the loss of her future children at the hands of that green goblin Baby Yoda to go traversing on intergalactic adventures, but hanging out with Din Djarin will certainly keep her mind of the tragedy she’s suffered!

While there isn’t much to the Frog Lady yet, since she just first appeared in the last episode, you can just tell she’d be an improvement over Gina Carano. Frog Lady has a face that says, “Why yes, I will wear a mask when I go in public. No, I don’t think it’s an overreaction to the pandemic.” Frog Lady clearly believes that the election wasn’t rigged, and while the United States of America is in a galaxy far, far away, you can just tell she trusts the democratic process! Frog Lady is for trans rights! Frog Lady believes Black Lives Matter!

Frog Lady

Decider wrote about the excellent upgrade from Gina Carano to Frog Lady, pointing out that Carano’s acting isn’t that great to begin with, that she’s little more than another warrior in the Mandalorian universe, and that she doesn’t have the dynamic presence that Frog Lady does. Decider says, “Frog Lady is different. Frog Lady is unique. Frog Lady is iconic. Frog Lady can sprint on all fours. Frog Lady should be made a series regular on The Mandalorian.” Amen, sister.

Yet I say Decider isn’t thinking big enough. Rian Johnson is apparently still working on a new Star Wars trilogy. Why not center the new trilogy around her? How about Star Wars: A New Croak? Star Wars: Attack of the Toads? Honestly, the possibilities are endless, and I think we can all agree Gina Carano just doesn’t have the range to pull off all the wondrous possibilities.

Frog Lady Mandalorian

Sure, I think we can all agree there should be a Frog Lady spinoff. Obviously. But she could also hop into all of the other upcoming Star Wars shows coming to Disney+ in a way that Gina Carano just couldn’t. Diego Luna will certainly need a love interest in the new Cassian Andor series that is set to debut in 2021. Make that Rogue One a rogue duo! How about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series in 2022, which brings back Ewan MacGregor as the famous Jedi. I don’t think anyone would complain if Frog Lady was Kenobi’s new Jedi partner. There’s even a female-focused Star Wars series in the future, and c’mon, who better to lead that than the frog that has already stolen all of our hearts??

I don’t mean to be hyperbolic here, but clearly, Frog Lady is the most important character to ever exist in the Star Wars universe. That’s a given, after only one episode. Gina Carano doesn’t stand a chance. Disney, get rid of Carano, and give us more of the Frog Lady we all crave!
