Gal Gadot Wonder Woman

With Wonder Woman 1984 currently scheduled for release at the end of this year, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League planned for 2021, the next year is going to big for fans of Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, has said she’s already planned out the third film in the Wonder Woman franchise, Jenkins and Gal Gadot are planning on taking a break before wrapping up the trilogy. But if a new rumor is to be believed, there might still be more Wonder Woman in the near future.

Entertainment gossip writer Daniel Richtman has revealed on his Patreon that Gal Gadot has been cast in The Flash, set for release on November 4, 2022. Richtman doesn’t state what his source is for this information, or in what capacity Gal Gadot would appear in The Flash, so at this point, this might be little more than wishful thinking.

But Gal Gadot’s addition to The Flash would add to an already intriguing lineup of cast members. Ben Affleck has already been announced to reprise his role as Batman, while Michael Keaton is planned to return as Batman as well, the first time Keaton has played the role since 1992’s Batman Returns. With multiple Batmen set to appear, it’s also theoretically possible we could see multiple versions of Wonder Woman as well. Maybe Gal Gadot will meet Lynda Carter?

As We Got This Covered mentioned, The Flash is based on the Flashpoint series, in which a more aggressive Wonder Woman can be seen, as she is warring with Aquaman and the Atlanteans. This version of Diana is an unrepentant, bloodthirsty warrior, and it would be interesting to see Gal Gadot taking on Wonder Woman in this way, or even to see her potentially as one of the primary villains in The Flash.

But with Gal Gadot already involved with two upcoming Wonder Woman projects, it seems like appearing in The Flash kind of goes against what Jenkins said about both her and Gadot wanting to take a break from that world for a while. In an interview with Collider, Jenkins said:

“I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back. It’s been great doing these two movies back to back., but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.”

If Jenkins and Gal Gadot want time away from Wonder Woman, it wouldn’t exactly make sense for Gadot to spend some of that time…playing Wonder Woman. Gadot already has several non-Wonder Woman-related projects in the works or completed. Also scheduled for release this year, Gadot will appear in Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile, and she’s currently filming the action-comedy Red Notice, alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.

There have also been many rumors that with the return of Han in the upcoming F9, and the Fast and Furious franchise supposedly ending with the eleventh installment, Gal Gadot might be reviving her character of Gisele for a future installment.

But with The Flash reportedly planned to start production in March 2021, Red Notice will almost certainly be finished filming by then. With all the multiverse fun that seems likely to happen in The Flash, DC would probably love to see as many characters from their Justice League appear as unexpected versions of these characters. While it certainly seems possible that Gal Gadot could appear in The Flash, it also seems like Gadot would likely want a break from this character if she can.
