Actor Gal Gadot is set to co-star in a new spy movie with Jamie Dornan, most famous for his role as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise of films. The movie is set to be produced by Netflix and the Skydance production company, and titled Heart of Stone. Plot details are still scarce, but it has been released that the film will be directed by Tom Harper (who is best known for the musical drama Wild Rose and his work on the period crime drama series Peaky Blinders). The script was co-written by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder, and while no release date has been mentioned, it will likely not be until 2023.

Heart of Stone is just one of many upcoming Gal Gadot projects. After beginning her career as a relatively minor character in the Fast and Furious franchise of films, she quickly achieved A-list status when cast as Wonder Woman in the DCEU. Beginning with 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot quickly became a standout of Warner Bros’ response to the box office dominance of Marvel Studios.

The next year, Gal Gadot’s first solo Wonder Woman film became the DCEU’s critical breakout hit, and since then, she has not really stopped. She has already collaborated with Netflix for Red Notice, which also starred former Fast and Furious cohorts Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. The trio have already been announced to be teaming up again for the streaming service, though whether as a direct sequel or some other project is unknown.

Like Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan also began his career as a model before transitioning into acting. His role as a serial killer in the Gillian Anderson crime procedural series The Fall brought him critical notice, but he truly broke into the mainstream with the 50 Shades of Grey series. As the near-titular Christian Grey, he was one of the stars (along with noted lime hater Dakota Johnson) of the blockbuster adaptation of erotic novels. Although the eventual trilogy of films eventually grossed over $1 billion at the box office and entered the top ten R-Rated franchises in film history, they were consistently derided by critics. Dornan revived his critical good graces this last year when he starred in Kenneth Branagh’s period drama Belfast. Playing a character based on the director’s father, both he and the film covering the tumult of 1960s Northern Ireland history were widely acclaimed.

Aside from Heart of Stone and the upcoming Dwayne John-Ryan Reynolds joint, Gal Gadot will soon star in another Kenneth Branagh film Death on the Nile. A follow-up to Branagh’s 2017 film Murder on the Orient Express, the ensemble film will adapt another of Agatha Christie’s mystery novels. At one point, the future of Death on the Nile seemed in peril, as co-star Armie Hammer saw his public persona and acting career rapidly decline following allegations of sexual abuse. As it turns out, the film will still be released this coming February, and presumably there will be a whole new slate of Gal Gadot films (including an Alfred Hitchcock remake) coming steadily after it.
