Popular FX Series Returns After A Four-Year Break
FX is bringing back a very popular series that has been on hiatus for a number of years now. But it's set to make a return sooner than later

Fans will be delighted to know that the hit FX series, Atlanta, is finally returning to television screens. This is fantastic news considering the show has been on hiatus for the past four years. Atlanta Season 3 will be gracing our screens on March 24, 2022. The second season of the show aired in March of 2018 with the final episode airing in May of that same year. FX had renewed the series for a third season in 2018, but the production never got off the ground. Atlanta season 3 will be returning to FX on March 24, 2022.
The major reason behind why the FX series never got off the ground after being so highly successful had to do with creator Donal Glover’s packed schedule. That, and the fact that the following year was the start of the pandemic that made everything that much more complicated. Atlanta Season 3 was supposed to directly follow season by premiering in 2019, but that never came to fruition. Now, with a better understanding of protocols in place, both seasons could ideally be filmed back to back.
Atlanta follows the life of an up-and-coming rapper by the name of Paper Boi, who traverses the world of stardom after a viral video makes him famous overnight. Earnest “Earn” Marks is his representation that dropped out of Princeton and is now attempting to make his mark as a manager of his famous cousin. Donal Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz make up the cast of one of the most dynamic and funny shows on television. This FX series is sure to be welcomed by all when it returns in 2022.
Atlanta Season 3 is likely to be one of the most highly-anticipated returning FX series. What is even more exciting is that on top of the series premiering as normal on FX, it will also be airing next-day on FX on Hulu as well. This will be the first time the series is available so soon after. Fans without normal cable television will still have their chance to view the show on Hulu.
Atlanta is a critical success as it has garnered many awards and nominations from its two seasons. Donald Glover has won Best Actor in a Comedy series from both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The series also won Best Television Series-Comedy from the Golden Globes. Through two seasons alone the FX series has achieved a great deal of success, and it stands at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Atlanta Season 3 is likely to have the same success with Donald Glover continuing his role of directing and writing.
Donald Glover is a perennial entertainer. On top of being a comedian, writer, and actor, he also has a highly successful career as rapper Childish Gambino. Considering his passion for so many projects, it will be exciting to see where he takes his FX series this time around. Atlanta Season 3 will be premiering in the first quarter of 2022, and that is a great way to start the new year.
