FX Has Renewed Its Best Series For Two Additional Seasons

Fans of the vampire comedy What We Do In The Shadows will have plenty more to look forward to, as the series was just given the go-ahead from FX for at least two more seasons. The show is about a month away from premiering its fourth season. Fans can rest easy knowing that they’ll get a season five and six after the forthcoming episodes, with the chance for even more if the show continues to find an audience.

What We Do In The Shadows is a mockumentary following four Staten Island vampire roommates and their nightly adventures. The show is based on the feature film of the same name by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. The show follows the vampires Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch). Harvey Guillén plays Nandor’s familiar Guillermo.

While it’s certainly good news that What We Do In The Shadows is getting more season, it’s not necessarily surprising. The show is beloved by critics and audiences alike, with a current rating from with a 97% from critics and a 93% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s not even mentioning the ten Emmy nominations, with more nominations surely coming for the third season. Maybe this time around the show will actually get to take home a trophy from TV’s biggest awards night.

What We Do In The Shadows is most lauded for its cast and writing, offering consistently funny episodes and characters throughout its three-season run. The recurring cast and guest stars add a lot as well, with the previous three seasons featuring guests like Tilda Swinton, Vanessa Bayer, Dave Bautista, Wesley Snipes, Evan Rachel Wood, Mark Hamill, Craig Robinson, Benedict Wong, David Cross, Aida Turturro, and many more.

The fourth season, which is just around the corner, will see the vampires returning to Staten Island to find their mansion falling apart, and they have no money to get it in proper shape. The season will show us Nandor’s continued search for eternal love, Nadja opening up a vampire club, and Lazlo taking care of the energy vampire Baby Colin. The fourth season will also introduce us to locations like the Night Market, the Pine Barrens, and more. There are sure to be plenty of hilarious guest stars peppered throughout the season as well. What We Do In The Shadows is set to premiere the first episode of its fourth season on Tuesday, July 12 on FX. The episode will be available the following day on Hulu.
