With a smirk on her face, Daniela Melchoir is sitting in the driver’s seat and preparing to take over screens everywhere with her newest and very secretive role in the upcoming Fast X. Over the weekend, the actress took to Twitter to share a short clip of the filming process with her behind the wheel, looking badass as she does it. In fact, “short” is an understatement as the moment is a total blink-and-you’ll-miss it, but it’s the thought that counts.
Along with dropping the clip, Daniela Melchoir attached a caption telling fans that she wasn’t allowed to show specifics about the car, including its model and color and also couldn’t reveal where filming was taking place. Tagging one final piece of non-information, the actress said she couldn’t share who else was in the filming studio with her, but teased fans by telling them that the upcoming film would be “EPIC.” You can see the sneak peek below.
The clip in question is one of the first pieces of information we’ve received surrounding the details of Daniela Melchior’s character. Mum’s been the word when it comes to who Melcior will be joining the cast as, with her background and name completely left out of the picture for now. The only other verbalized piece of info has come from her original casting announcement when it was revealed that she would not only be signing on for Fast X, but would most likely be coming back for its follow-up sequel, Fast & Furious 11. With that tidbit, we can expect that Melchior will hold enough of a role to have a two film character arc, and won’t be killed off in her debut.
Daniela Melchior is one of the newest members of the Fast and Furious franchise family. Pulling out all the stops to make this one the biggest, baddest, and loudest yet, the casting team has brought in the likes of Aquaman star Jason Momoa, and Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson. Throwing the three big name newbies in with the likes of a returning cast set to include Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, and Cardi B, we know we’re in for a treat. Oh yeah, and there’s also the fact that legendary actress, Rita Moreno signed on to portray the Toretto family grandmother – we’re hoping for some wild Sunday dinners at grandma’s house!
Like Daniela Melchior’s character, a lot of the plot for Fast X is being kept on the down low. Justin Lin, who was the director behind a slew of other movies from the franchise, wrote the screenplay alongside Dan Mazeau and was set to direct. All was going according to plan until Lin abandoned his post citing “creative differences,” leaving the film scrambling for a director in its early days. Lucky for them, Transporter 2 and The Takedown director, Louis Leterrier, was able to jump in to steer production back on course. With filming well under way, we can expect to see more speedy looks like Melchior’s, and hopefully more information, coming our way in the near future.
