Fast X: The First Trailer Is Here And Resurrects Paul Walker
Fast & Furious 10 is Fast X. The movie is the penultimate in the franchise and will release in theaters on May 19, 2023.

Fast & Furious is winding down to its final movie with Fast X. Who knew that the first film, which came out in 2001, would grow into such a large and profitable franchise? Though the films have been mostly critical failures, they have been loved by fans around the world.
The first trailer for Fast X kicks off the hype. Here it is …
The entire franchise, including the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off film, has raked in over $6.6 billion at the box office. That is some astounding success, and further proves why fast cars and Vin Diesel have lasted this long. Now that Fast X, aka Fast & Furious 10 is on its way, we would like to detail everything we know about the final chapter.
FAST 10 IS FAST X

In April 2022, Vin Diesel finally unveiled the title for the final chapter of the Fast & Furious saga. The actor posted the official logo for Fast & Furious, Fast X, on his Instagram account. You can see that post below.
It’s easy to see why they would go this route with the X working in as the 10 but also doubling for an “extreme” feeling around the movie. In some ways, it’s almost like making it to the tenth movie was worth it just for the name alone.
VIN DIESEL, JASON STATHAM, MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ, AND MORE ARE BACK FOR FAST X

This is not a surprise at all, but nearly the entire cast of the Fast & Furious universe is returning for these final films in the franchise. That’s, of course, headlined by Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto who has been there since the beginning when he and the late Paul Walker effectively started this whole thing as the leads.
Michelle Rodriguez will return as Letty, Tyrese Gibson will be back in Fast X as Roman, Chris Bridges as Tej, Jordana Brewster as Mia, and Sung Kang as Han Lue is in the mix, as well. These folks have mostly been the mainstays and while they haven’t been in every film, they’ve comprised the universe up until this point.
Plus, recent additions like Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, John Cena as Jakob Toretto (Dom’s brother), and even Helen Mirren will be making appearances in Fast X or even having bigger roles. The gang is all here, literally and figuratively.
JASON MOMOA AND BRIE LARSON JOIN THE CAST WITH CHARLIZE THERON RETURNING
With 2022 came a lot of exciting casting news for Fast & Furious 10, including the addition of Jason Momoa to the Fast X cast. The Aquaman star will reportedly be playing the main villain of Fast X, who he described as “a very flamboyant bad boy.”
Not long after Momoa’s casting was announced, he broke the news that another villain was returning for Fast & Furious 10. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Momoa confirmed that Charlize Theron would be returning as Cipher. A few weeks later, Theron shared a shot of her and Momoa together on the set of Fast X.
But the list of stars joining the Fast & Furious 10 cast doesn’t stop there. In April 2022, Vin Diesel announced that Captain Marvel star Brie Larson was joining Fast X. The actress had said in an interview with Uproxx she was desperately hoping to find a way into the film, and apparently, the casting gods made it happen.
FAST X IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST OF TWO FINAL MOVIES

Though Fast & Furious 10 is going to wrap up the long-standing franchise, it is not going to be done with a singular movie. That’s right, the final chapter will be two separate films. Just when you thought you had only one film left to get through, Vin Diesel was able to convince Universal to turn the finale into a two-part ending.
I mean, with the above-mentioned money that they have made, how could they say no? As of right now, the first part of the finale will be gracing film screens in 2023 as Fast X, but there is no telling when the second part will finish off the main saga. Diesel will be returning as Dominic Toretto, along with Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, and Ludacris.
Jeremy Lin was also slated to return as director. He has been responsible for directing five of the films, including the more recent F9. One thing might still be missing, Dwayne Johnson. Throughout the past year or so, there has been a known feud between Diesel and Johnson, based on comments made about Johnson’s acting.
It’s kind of odd that Vin Diesel would make such comments about Johnson, knowing that he is one of the biggest stars on the planet currently. Hopefully, their feud can be resolved at some point and Johnson will return as Hobbs. The spin-off film, Hobbs & Shaw, did well. The hope would be that he and Jason Statham’s Shaw will also return for Fast & Furious 10. If the film franchise can bring back Han, they can do just about anything at this point. Everyone is going to watch these movies regardless of what happens.
FAST & FURIOUS 10 WILL LIKELY LEAD TO SPIN-OFF MOVIES

The final two chapters of Fast & Furious 10 will end the main saga, but there are promises that spin-off films will keep this story alive after Fast X. The reasoning behind breaking the tenth entry into two parts was to cover enough ground for all the upcoming characters and the potentiality for their own stories.
One promised venture is a Hobbs & Shaw sequel, which again, would likely go over well. The first film made a whopping $726 million worldwide. Simply put, people want more of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham together.
Another interesting spin-off that might be established in Fast & Furious 10 is that of a women-led film. Though there is no title or much known about this spin-off, it is said that women will branch out and make their own team. This could be comprised of Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, and Nathalie Emmanuel.
Emmanuel is one of the more recently cast parts as the powerful hacker, Ramsey. Also, what has just been announced is that Daniela Melchior has also been added to the new entry. She was one of the best characters from the James Gunn version of The Suicide Squad. She plays a character known as Rat Catcher.
There are rumors that Paul Walker’s daughter is also set to appear in Fast & Furious 10, which has been alluded to by Vin Diesel among many others. The actor recently took to his Instagram to post about Fast X and his excitement for the future of the franchise. According to his post, he claims that there are “angels” heading to the finale of this mythology. Those angels he is referring to could mean inputting Paul Walker into the franchise somehow at the behest of his family, or his daughter taking her rightful part next to her father. You can read his post below:
Dominic Toretto and Vin Diesel always preach the importance of family, so adding Walker’s daughter would certainly help drive that ideology to the core message of this franchise. Diesel is hoping to make everyone proud with the finale and Fast X is likely to pull out all the stops in ending such a long-standing franchise. Not many franchises can even boast 10 entries, so this is a monumental success.
JUSTIN LIN EXITED THE FRANCHISE AT THE BEGINNING OF FILMING
Justin Lin had been another relative mainstay of the Fast & Furious franchise, directing five of the movies in total. He started with Tokyo Drift, and then went on to do Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and then F9. In many ways, he was responsible for making the franchise the bigger and more bombastic version we now know.
So it was something of a surprise when he walked away from the film due to what’s being cited as “creative differences” with Vin Diesel and the studio. There appear to have been a number of different issues with the star and director and even disagreements about the script. Louis Leterrier replaced Lin and will take this thing home.
FAST & FURIOUS 10 WILL RELEASE ON MAY 19, 2023

Filming during the pandemic has certainly brought along some of the most challenging aspects of the film industry. Plenty of films have been pushed back due to constraints and safety, and Fast & Furious 10 has been subject to that as well. Due to the difficulties that F9 faced, Fast X had to be pushed back.
Fast X was originally set to premiere in April 2021. That was certainly not the case, so it was pushed back to April of 2023. Another delay was unfortunately given and now the first part of this two-part ending will see theaters on May 19, 2023. There are no details on the plot just yet and no further details about the second part. While we all patiently wait for the conclusion of this franchise, we can look forward to the myriad of updates throughout the coming months.
