It has been announced that Damon Lindelof is set to lead a new Star Wars movie, which is great news considering the success he has had with shows like Lost and Watchmen. However, through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Vin Diesel is currently in talks to star in this new Lindelof-produced Star Wars adventure. If Lindelof is making his Star Wars movie about family, then he certainly has the right person for the job.

Vin Diesel joining Star Wars makes complete sense right now, apart from him being one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, he is also set to end his long run in the Fast & Furious franchise. While Fast X and the corresponding sequel are meant to end the mainline story, Diesel could be staying on as a producer for the spinoff movies or shows that continue the franchise. However, it could mean that he is now going to be more readily available for other big franchises, and what bigger franchise is there than Star Wars?

We are not sure what kind of movie Vin Diesel would be starring in, but we could see the man taking on a more central villain role in Star Wars. Much like how The Acolyte is meant to focus on the Darkside of things, we could see Diesel following that same route and shining more of a light on the more infamous characters that have yet to get their screen time. Darth Maul is a fan-favorite character that got an extended arc in The Clone Wars and Rebels, but Savage Opress has yet to premiere in a live-action format, which could be a perfect role for Diesel.

Both Savage Opress and Darth Maul have died in the previously mentioned shows, but that does not mean we couldn’t get a movie about the pair. While fans certainly want to see unused stories from the huge lore selection of the franchise, Vin Diesel could come in and bring in the live-action version of a huge Star Wars character that everyone wants to see more of. He could also just be another butt kicking Mandalorian much like Pedro Pascal has been as Din Djarin.

The world is currently obsessed with the Mandalorians, especially Disney, so Vin Diesel joining Star Wars could be to explore more about the Mandalorian history books. One such character that has yet to be shown is Mandalore the Great, who was the first ruler of Mand’alor and battled the Jedi many times over. While people might not want to see the Jedi as any kind of colonizer, but it could be something to explore further.

Vin Diesel would be a huge draw for the Star Wars franchise, though he could end up taking the lead in a movie that focuses more on the soldier or warrior component, rather than it being about Jedi and Sith. However, Damon Lindelof could surprise us all and make Diesel a powerful Jedi that the world has not seen yet. Whatever happens, Diesel would be adding yet another billion-dollar franchise to his already impressive resume.
