Exclusive: Kevin Bacon And Helena Bonham Carter Cast In MaXXXine
Kevin Bacon and Helena Bonham Carter will join Mia Goth for MaXXXine.
Ti West has created quite an exciting horror franchise, as X and Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story have both been hits with fans. Now, through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Kevin Bacon and Helena Bonham Carter will join Mia Goth in MaXXXine. The horror movie is set to be the sequel to X and will continue the story of Maxine Minx.
Interestingly, Mia Goth helped Ti West write Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story, though she is set to take on the role of executive producer in the creation of MaXXXine. Goth is certainly invested in this trilogy of horror films, as she was able to help write the screenplay with West for the Pearl prequel story, and will now help produce. We are not sure if there is going to be a time jump, but we are excited to see Kevin Bacon join MaXXXine.
The man has been a horror icon of sorts since his early days starring in movies like Friday the 13th, Tremors, and Stir of Echoes. Now, Kevin Bacon has pivoted to more contemporary horror movies, especially as he is going to star in MaXXXine. Although X took place in 1979, the tropes and commentary on horror and sex are certainly self-aware in West’s horror features.
Ti West has revealed that his next movie is going to cover the emergence of home videos, and how that affected the film industry. Considering the 1980s are right around the corner in the given era of the events of X, it makes sense that home videos and video stores are going to be the focal point. We are curious to know how Kevin Bacon and Helena Bonham Carter will factor into MaXXXine.
The plot for MaXXXine will still hover around Maxine, and how she was the lone survivor of the X massacre. The ending of the film did state that the authorities that discovered the grisly scene also found the footage from RJ’s video camera. However, Maxine is still dedicated to making it in Hollywood, so we could be seeing Kevin Bacon as a possible agent she meets in MaXXXine.
This is just speculation, as we have no idea who Kevin Bacon will be portraying in MaXXXine, only that he has been cast to appear in the movie alongside Mia Goth and Helena Bonham Carter. What we do know is that those are two big names that are being attached to this Ti West threequel, and we can’t wait to see who else is going to join the conclusion.
Ti West has also revealed that X, Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story, and MaXXXine are meant to be watched separately, though they obviously complement one another. West is certainly being inventive with his horror trilogy, which is likely why they have been massively popular. Bringing Kevin Bacon into MaXXXine is also going to add a ton of notoriety to the third movie.
Production on MaXXXine was stated to have begun in June of 2022, with a teaser trailer being shown during the screening of Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story at the Toronto Film Festival in September of 2022. Though Kevin Bacon was not announced to appear in MaXXXine, we would imagine the movie is going to be released later in 2023. That is the hope at least.
