With Zack Snyder’s Justice League putting what might be a final stamp on that iteration of the superhero team, there is the question of what the next team-up will look like in the DC universe. The future of the DC universe is going to be an interesting one as multiple projects continue to carve out their own corners of the comic book world. However, it is likely that Warner Bros. does not want to sit on the iconic superhero team forever, and thanks to some newly acquired info from one of our trusted and proven insider sources, it sounds like Warner Bros. has a very specific directive when it comes to what the next version of the Justice League is going to look like on the big screen.

Our source is telling us that Warner Bros. wants the next take on the Justice League to have a roster of superheroes that are mostly women. That is not the most surprising news to hear considering this recent iteration only had one major female member on the team, and Aquaman‘s Mera only showed up in a few spots but never became an “official” member of the group. It makes sense to diversify the lineup so they don’t look like the same usual lineup of male heroes that we have seen get the spotlight in plenty of other forms of media. And it offers the opportunity for new heroes to cement themselves as popular characters.

Of course, the question would be which female heroes would be joining the Justice League in this new take? There are plenty of excellent contenders and ones that we know will be getting their own chance to leave a good impression on audiences in new projects. There is Zatanna, the magical hero who will be getting her own movie written by Oscar winner Emerald Fennell. We also know that Hawkgirl will be appearing in the sequel to Shazam! Those two characters alone would be awesome additions to the superhero team. Not to mention Supergirl who will be making an appearance in The Flash and is currently being considered to lead a Legion of Super-Heroes movie. There are three great female superheroes who would be a benefit to the Justice League.

We should say that the report we are hearing is not specific about the current iteration of the Justice League. This could mean that Gal Gadot and Amber Heard would be considered for this new lineup for the team, or Warner Bros. might want to distance themselves even further from the Zack Snyder version of the team and take them out of the equation. We know that Wonder Woman 3 is still on the horizon. Could that end up being the last time Gal Gadot plays the iconic hero? And things are still up in the air when it comes to Amber Heard’s future in the DC universe after Aquaman 2.

It will be interesting to see who ends up in the next version of the Justice League. Hopefully, some of these women are able to join the group and showcase just how super they really can be.
