Exclusive: Chris Evans In Talks For Deadpool 3 As Human Torch
Chris Evans is currently in talks to return as Human Torch for Deadpool 3.
Chris Evans was recently interviewed about his involvement with the MCU, and specifically about if he would ever be up for returning as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Well, through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Chris Evans is currently in talks to return as Human Torch for Deadpool 3. We know that Ryan Reynolds has been planning on bringing back plenty of the original Marvel actors, presumably so they could be ridiculed in the movie, and it sounds like that is exactly what is going to happen.
Chris Evans joins the growing cast that has already been rumored to be joining Deadpool 3. Our own reports have indicated that Rogue (Anna Paquin), Howard the Duck, Tom Hiddleston, and Jonathan Majors have already joined the long-awaited sequel. Reynolds has already indicated he wants to bring back James Marsden as Cyclops and Halle Berry as Storm. We wonder if Evans’s appearance in Deadpool 3 is going to lead to the man reprising that role in further MCU entries.
We do know that Avengers: Secret Wars is happening, and that comic brings together different timeline versions of every character together to take on Doctor Doom. We could be seeing Chris Evans return as Human Torch in Deadpool 3, and then come back for one more grand finale cameo in Secret Wars. We doubt that Evans is going to want to be cast as the Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, but crazier things have happened.
Chris Evans’s appearance in Deadpool 3 does indicate that he is not done with the MCU just yet, which is great news for everyone who has been a fan of his as Captain America. What would be even greater is if he is cast as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four and no one ever brings it up. It could then be a running gag for the foreseeable future that comes up in sly ways every so often in future MCU movies.
Chris Evans in Deadpool 3 could also mean that more of the original Fantastic Four actors could make their way into the movie. We are not sure if that is going to be the case considering Evans is the most popular, but we would be fine seeing Jessica Alba back as Sue Storm, and Michael Chiklis returning as The Thing. Either way, we expect there to be plenty of jokes relating to Evans being the Human Torch now, and being Captain America before.
Chris Evans will return as Human Torch when Deadpool 3 debuts in theaters on November 8, 2024. It might be a long time to wait, but we are sure to get more rumored characters coming into the fold, welcoming Deadpool into the MCU in the best way possible. It was enough that Hugh Jackman is coming back as Wolverine, now we get a bunch of the original Marvel movie actors too, with most of them dropping in just to likely be joke fodder for The Merc with the Mouth.
