These days, with the content wars on streaming services only heating up, it makes sense that we are going to get returns to franchises of the past. This is a logical endpoint in content creation, especially when there is now a growing market for series set in different worlds. We no longer need to wait around for another big-budget movie to hit the big screens to get more stories in a world. That’s going to be the case with the upcoming Alien TV series which will reset some of the timelines from the original movies. And now we have the exclusive from our trusted and proven source about who (and what) some of the new characters will be for this show. From the early word, this is shaping up to be a very cool offering.

The Alien TV series will actually be a prequel to the original franchise, set years before the first movie that first introduced up to Sigourney Weaver’s iconic Ripley character. This show will take place on Earth and will feature an eclectic group of characters, each of whom will factor into the overall Alien franchise and help set the stage for the films that came after. For starters, there will be Wendy, one of the main characters in the series. She is what is considered a hybrid, a metahuman who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult. Because she was essentially created in a lab, she will eventually yield her almost superhuman powers.

And at that crux of this Alien TV series will be a larger corporation that is essentially manufacturing these Synth hybrid humans. Because the corporate piece has factored into almost all of the Alien movies up until this point, it makes sense that this is at the backbone of this new series. There will be Boy Kavalier, a very young man who is the CEO of a company called The Prodigy Corporation. This company is at the heart of the series, with their experiments and creations becoming a new wave into metahuman territory. It’s unclear if this character will be an antagonist in some respect, or if there become ethical questions around his work.

Also working for Prodigy is a character JD Hermit, a soldier for the company’s security arm. He is essentially an orphan who lost his family at a young age. One of his losses was his sister Marcy who he believes died at the age of 10. But the viewer will find out that Marcy’s consciousness was actually uploaded to the character of Wendy mentioned above. It’s looking like he is going to be one of the heroes of the Alien TV series.

Other smaller roles in the Alien TV series will include Kirsh, another synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Wendy. Slightly older and more highly developed, the character will train Wendy but might have other intentions. There is also the awesomely named Atom Ein who acts as Boy Kavalier’s advisor. He is older but understands manipulation and the way to help achieve larger goals.

In all, this Alien TV series is shaping up to be a very cool show. Set in a timeline that could help shape the rest of the franchise, it looks from this character list that we are going to get a high level of intrigue and some serious moral questioning around being human. The series is coming from Noah Hawley and is set to come from FX and will air on Hulu.
