After a long wait and many delays, the much-anticipated adventure flick, Jungle Cruise, is finally on its way to the theaters and Disney+. And in preparation for the same, Disney has dropped a final trailer of the film starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, and their adrenaline-pumping pirates-style adventure. And the trailer is proof that the story is high on the action! But, for a change, this time Hollywood’s action star Dwayne Johnson, who has delivered countless punches while playing many badass roles in a number of films, is on the receiving end of a punch himself.

Check out Dwayne Johnson getting socked in the face in the new Jungle Cruise trailer:

If anyone had any reservations about the level of action Disney’s Jungle Cruise will be able to muster or whether it will be as thrilling as the theme park ride it is inspired from, for them the latest trailer of the film is enough to erase any lingering doubts. Hopped up on an insane dose of action and adventure, this Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt starrer sees the duo embark on a crazy journey of discovering the impossible. We see Emily Blunt as the brave and often reckless Dr. Lily Houghton and her brother in search of the mystical Tree of Life, which is said to possess magical healing powers.

To find the object of their query, the brother and sister enlist the help of riverboat captain Frank (Dwayne Johnson) to ferry them through the lush rainforest. And like any worthy adventure, the ride forward isn’t easy as the trio faces a number of deadly threats, ranging from wild animals to supernatural dangers. But the best part of the trailer is, hands down, the moment when Emily Blunt’s character ends up punching Dwayne Johnson while dealing with a sudden attack by forces who want to put an end to their search.

Apart from Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, Édgar Ramírez, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, Andy Nyman, and Quim Gutiérrez are also part of the cast. But despite being led by major stars, it is Dwayne Johnson’s undeniable star power that has the potential of making Jungle Cruise a successful franchise for Disney. The actor has already aided in reviving another major franchise, i.e., Jumanji under Sony Pictures and is also a part of many other franchises, including Fast & Furious, the G.I. Joe, etc. He will soon be joining DC Extended Universe as well with the upcoming Black Adam film.

But if the first and now the second trailer of Jungle Cruise is any proof, we can confidently say that we are looking at yet another blockbuster joining Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s resume. Jungle Cruise is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, with the screenplay being penned by Michael Green based on a story by the writer/director duo of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. The film was originally supposed to release in theaters last year but once the COVID-19 pandemic struck, it was shifted to 2021. Soon, Disney decided to release it simultaneously in theaters as well as on Disney Plus on July 30 when subscribers will be able to rent the film for an additional fee of $39.99.
