While we may never get to see a film where Black Adam, Wonder Woman, and Deadpool come together, at least Netflix’s upcoming thriller heist film Red Notice will be bringing together the actors who play these respective superheroes- Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. Filming of the Netflix feature had wrapped up back in November 2020 but recently Dwayne Johnson returned to the set of the film and shared two images, including a fresh look at his character, Rusty.

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram a few days ago to share that he is back on the sets of Red Notice for two more days that will be productive and focused. He also shared two images from the set, of which the first one appears to be from his recent visit and the other offers a fresh look at his character, Rusty, in the film.

In the post, the Jumanji actor shared that the film is the largest investment Netflix has ever made. The film is produced by Beau Flynn, Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Production, and director Rawson Thurber’s Bad Version Inc. Initially, the film was supposed to be released by Universal Pictures but the distribution rights were later reverted to Netflix. As reported by Variety, the production budget of the film is higher than $200 million, making it the most costly film in the streamer’s history.

Dwayne Johnson also assured that he and his co-stars are well aware of the major investment Netflix has made to Red Notice and what is at stake. And thus they have ensured that through their hard work they incur mega-profits in exchange for the trust the streamer has in them. Just like Johnson has been a part of many successful franchises, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot have starred in their fair share of blockbuster films. Given this triple assurance of success, it isn’t hard to guess why Netflix is taking such a huge financial risk with Red Notice.

Dwayne Johnson also teased that soon, they will be announcing the release date of the film. So far, it has been reported that Red Notice will release in the fourth quarter of 2021. Apart from the release date of the film, there is a lot about the film that is being kept under tight wraps like what roles will actress Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy Season 2 breakout star) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) will play in the film.

For now, all we know is that Dwayne Johnson will be playing the part of Rusty, an Interpol agent who is touted as the world’s best tracker. He is brought in to catch Gal Gadot’s character who is the world’s most wanted art thief but he ends up getting tangled in a daring heist to be pulled off by her as well as her rival i.e., Ryan Reynolds’ character, the greatest conman in the world. Hopefully, we will be getting a clearer picture of what to expect with the trailer which is expected to be dropped any day now.
