DC’s Doom Patrol will be back for Season 3 and a new rumor has possibly revealed who the big bad will be. Frenzy is on his way.

This news comes from insider Daniel Richtman, as he is reporting that Doom Patrol is currently looking for actors to portray Lloyd Jefferson. Fans of the property know that character as Frenzy, one of the members of the Brotherhood of Dada. Richtman says that the studio is casting Lloyd Jefferson/Frenzy from the Brotherhood of Dada for the third season of Doom Patrol.

There was good news for fans of the show back in September 2020 when DC’s Doom Patrol was renewed for season 3. The series moves to full time on HBO Max as DC Universe has gone through major changes and is no longer doing original live-action material. The bad news is, there is no release date for the third season, which means fans will have to wait a little longer to get their proper ending to Season 2.

When production was shut down on Doom Patrol due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series still had one episode left to film to complete Season 2. They never got to it as the pandemic virtually brought Hollywood to its collective knees, causing studios to turn out the lights. So, the fear was fans weren’t going to know how Season 2 officially wrapped if a Season 3 wasn’t happening. Fans can breathe easy since Season 3 has been given the greenlight. HBO Max’s head of original content, Sarah Aubrey, said in her press release via Inverse, “Doom Patrol came to HBO Max with an already deep and passionate fan base and has risen to the top as one of the most watched Max Originals on the platform. The series sits well in our portfolio and we are glad to greenlight a third season to continue this distinctive style of storytelling that resonates so well with critics and fans alike.”

For those of you who are not up on your Doom Patrol history, the Brotherhood of Dada is a group of supervillains who have taken their Dada name from the Dadaism art movement of the early 20th century. They first appeared in the DC comic Doom Patrol #26 and were the creation of Grant Morrison. Their first members included Byron Shelley/The Fog, Holly McKenzie/Sleepwalk, The Quiz, who actually has no name, and of course, Lloyd Jefferson/Frenzy. This group was put together by Mr. Nobody, who played a large part of Doom Patrol’s Season 1.

It is unclear if any other Brotherhood of Dada members will appear in season 3, but if Frenzy is part of it, then it’d be strange not to have the whole group appear to take on the Doom Patrol as they are major antagonists to the supergroup. With that said, a Brotherhood appearance could also mean the return of Mr. Nobody, who was played by Alan Tudyk. But first, that Candlemaker arc needs to conclude, then fans can get their Brotherhood of Dada fix.

Doom Patrol stars Diane Guerrero as Jane, April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele, Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder, and Jovian Wade as Cyborg.
