Chris Pratt has become an action and comic book star right before our very eyes. It’s almost hard to imagine him as the lovable and clumsy doofus Andy Dwyer back on his Parks and Recreation days. That’s because, since then, he’s done almost nothing but crush it in huge franchises and blockbuster films. And that is set to keep going. Andy Dwyer isn’t walking back through that door. Now we get to catch a glimpse of Pratt, once again, as Star-Lord in some recent set pictures from Thor: Love and Thunder.

From the Twitter handle @loveandthundernews, we are seeing Chris Pratt talking to Chris Hemsworth on the set of the upcoming movie. They are surrounded by techs and other onset folks, but Pratt is clearly in his Star-Lord suit with Hemsworth in jeans and a cut-off t-shirt. It doesn’t look like the latter is in costume though we’ve seen in the past Thor take, um, non-traditional get-ups when the mood struck him. We don’t have to think back too far to when he has let himself go a little too much at the beginning of Endgame.

If we glimpse a little closer at these new Thor: Love and Thunder pics, it also looks like Chris Pratt as Star-Lord/ Peter Quill is standing amidst some rubble and destroyed structures. What part of the action we are seeing is unclear with plenty still to learn about this much-anticipated follow-up film.

Last we saw Chris Pratt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was boarding his ship, the Benatar, with the familiar crew. But in a twist, Thor had tagged along as well. The latter refers to the new group as the As-Guardians of the Galaxy and it begins a hilarious scene of the two not-so-subtly wrestling for control of the ship. It played for the perfect dynamic between the two characters, something we saw building with Quill clearly intimidated by Thor’s power and confidence. We could have the next movie pick up right here with the two clearly in competition for control.

Thor: Love and Thunder is setting up to be a massive film, reuniting some older characters from the franchise while also bringing in some new folks as well. Chris Pratt is back as Star-Lord along with some other Guardians like Drax the Destroyer, Nebula, and Mantis. But they are also bringing back Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman is going to reprise her Dr. Jane Foster character as well. Plus there are even some rumors that Brie Larson will get into the mix as Captain Marvel. And finally, Christian Bale will get a villain turn as Gorr the God Butcher.

Clearly, Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming so it’s going to be quite some time before we finally get this spectacle up on the big screen. Currently, the release date is more than a year off with a tentative timeline for it to hit theaters on May 6, 2022. That leaves plenty of time to speculate on how Chris Pratt factors into things and whether he and Thor can ever truly work together.
