Cardi B has made her obsession with the hit Netflix series You quite known on social media. As it turns out, Penn Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg on the show, is a huge fan of the Grammy Award-winning rapper. According to Deadline, the 36-year-old actor would have loved to have the “WAP” singer on the latest season of the series.

While speaking with Rolling Stone, Badgley said, “Would I want [Cardi B] to be in You? Yeah, if it worked.” He went on to say that he really wanted the artist to be in Season Four. Of course, it would have to work, and he admitted most people would have a hard time seeing her as anybody but Cardi B.

When asked if he liked the idea of the musician being the one to end his character’s life he replied, “I don’t disagree.” Can you imagine Cardi B being the one to end Joe Goldberg’s reign of terror? It would certainly be a twist You fans wouldn’t see coming.

It wasn’t too long ago that Penn Badgley and the musician forged a Twitter friendship. Cardi B retweeted a video of the You star complimenting her “authentic relationship” with social media, and to say she was over the moon would be an understatement. She was completely beside herself after the actor shouted her out and she tweeted, “OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME!!!”

Not surprisingly, Penn Badgley became starstruck himself, tweeting back his shock at her excitement. This led to him and Cardi B changing their profile pictures to images of one another to celebrate their newfound friendship. To commemorate the new season of You, the rapper changed her profile picture on Twitter to an image from the Netflix series.

While Cardi B is not physically present, she does make a brief appearance on You. Her song “I Like It” plays in the background during the first episode of Season 4, while Joe Goldberg dismembers a body. Although the choice of music is definitely strange, it pairs surprisingly well with the scene.

Netflix released the first five episodes of You Season 4 on February 9, with the five remaining episodes scheduled to drop on the service beginning on March 9. The latest installment finds Joe, now going by Jonathan Moore, living in London and teaching literature as a college professor. He has a brand-new circle of acquaintances to possibly terrorize and kill.

Although Cardi B has yet to land a role on You, the artist is slowly but surely building up her resume as an actress. After appearing in an episode of the acclaimed series Being Mary Jane in 2017, she made her big-screen debut in the 2019 comedy Hustlers, where she starred alongside Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, and Keke Palmer. In 2021, she appeared as Leysa in F9: The Fast Saga.

Cardi B was attached to headline the upcoming comedy Assisted Living for Paramount, but she unexpectedly backed out of the project. She would have played Amber, a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. Unfortunately, the studio reportedly pulled the plug on the film following the rapper’s exit.
