It would seem like Brie Larson hasn’t been able to catch a break since landing the role as the title character in 2019’s Captain Marvel. The actress, who won an Academy Award for her performance in the 2015 drama Room, has consistently been criticized for reasons that are often unjustified. Some Marvel fans believe she wasn’t right for the role of Carol Danvers, while others have attacked her for simply voicing her opinion on issues like diversity in cinema. According to ComicBook, however, Larson is clapping back at her trolls. The Marvels star recently took to Twitter to share a couple of photos of the upcoming film’s main cast and director, with the short caption “*trolls combust*.”

In the two images, Brie Larson is joined by The Marvels stars Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, and director Nia DaCosta. All four women look dressed to impress. If the expressions on these ladies’ faces are any indication, they have no intention of backing down from the seemingly countless keyboard warriors who taunt them on what seems like a daily basis.

It’s certainly refreshing to see Brie Larson standing up for herself, particularly after some recent comments she made on the D23 Expo carpet regarding her future as Captain Marvel. When asked by Variety how long she would be playing the MCU hero, Larson responded, “I don’t know. Does anyone want me to do it again?” She continued, “I really don’t know. I don’t know the answer to that.”

The actress may have some haters, but it hasn’t stopped Brie Larson from becoming one of the most successful stars on the planet. Captain Marvel features the actress front and center, and the superhero flick managed to gross over $1 billion globally when it was released. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film sits with a 74% fresh rating from critics.

Brie Larson made her MCU debut in Captain Marvel. The movie centers on Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, who after crashing an experimental aircraft, becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. When Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races, it’s up to Captain Marvel to save the planet. Larson has returned as the character in Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Ms. Marvel. She’s set to reprise the role in the upcoming sequel The Marvels, and the recently announced Avengers: Secret Wars.

Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Brie Larson has several upcoming projects. She is currently filming scenes for Fast X, which marks the tenth installment in Universal Pictures’ wildly popular Fast and the Furious franchise. Although her role in the sequel is unknown at this time, the film is scheduled to hit theaters next year. Joining her are Jason Mamoa, Charlize Theron, Vin Diesel, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Michael Rooker, Tyrese Gibson, and several other franchise regulars.

On the small screen, Brie Larson has landed the starring role in an untitled bio-pic series. The show is based on the real-life experiences of an undercover CIA operative, and the even surrounding her personal and professional life. No other cast members have been confirmed, and no release date has been set at this time.

Although she may not be the most-liked actor in the industry, Brie Larson continues to prove time and time again her versatility as an actress. As her acting resume continues to expand, she’s also making it clear to all of her haters that she’s here to stay. If that isn’t enough, she can always post another glamorous photo to Twitter to make the trolls combust.
