Brad Pitt Says His Career Is Almost Over

Brad Pitt is one of the most reliable stars of the modern era. You can count on him for a leading man performance, or you can revel in his surprising ability to be an astounding character actor despite his Hollywood good looks. However, it looks like the actor is about ready to call it a day, telling GQ magazine “I consider myself on my last leg,” Pitt said, “this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”
Brad Pitt, now 58, surely has a lot of performances left in him, but it seems like he’s ready to go out on a high note. If this is the last leg of his career, it’s quite the legacy to leave behind. The actor finally nabbed an Oscar for his acting in 2020 for Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Fittingly, Pitt played the stuntman for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton, an actor nearing the end of his career.
Before Brad Pitt calls it a day, we have some future roles to look forward to. The next one will be in the kinetic Bullet Train, which features five assassins onboard a high-speed training learning their missions all have something in common. Pitt will star alongside Sandra Bullock, Karen Fukuhara, Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Logan Lerman, Andrea Munoz, Hiroyuki Sanada, Andrew Koji, and more. David Leitch, known for producing the John Wick franchise and Nobody, as well as directing Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde will be on as the director.
Brad Pitt is also set to have a role in the next star-studded film from Damien Chazelle, titled Babylon. Babylon is set in old Hollywood, showing the transition from silent film to talkies. Along with Pitt, the film stars Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde, Samara Weaving, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jean Smart, Tobey Maguire, Eric Roberts, Phoebe Tonkin, and more.
Brad Pitt will also reunite with long-time Hollywood friend and Oceans franchise co-star George Clooney for an untitled project directed and written by Jon Watts. The movie will see two lone wolf fixers being assigned to the same job. It’s unclear if Pitt will consider this as his last role or if there is going to be more to come from the actor. In addition to his acting career, Pitt still has his Plan B production company, which has a long list of upcoming projects on the docket. It’s always possible that Pitt will continue his producing work after retiring from acting. the next two big projects from Plan B will be a Marilyn Monroe biopic titled Blonde and Women Talking, a movie about a group of Mennonite women uniting against the men who sexually assault them.
In any case, we won’t have to wait very long to see Brad Pitt in his next role. The aforementioned Bullet Train is less than 2 months away, releasing in theaters on August 5. Babylon should help us ring in the new year, as it’s expected to release on January 6. The Jon Watts project has yet to announce a release date. Hopefully, that role won’t be the last see of Pitt.
