Avengers: Endgame signaled the last known meeting of the superhero team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As of now, there has not been an official announcement regarding when we will see the Marvel team meet up again on the big screen, but a new report suggests that their next adventure will be predominantly made up of women superheroes.

According to a scoop from insider Daniel Richtman (via We Got This Covered), Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige is reportedly pushing for the majority of the Avengers to be women the next time that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have to join together to stop a major threat. This would tie in with other reports we have heard about MArvel potentially developing an all-female version of the team.

There is precedent for such a move in the comic books. A-Force was an all-female Avengers spinoff that could be used as an inspiration for future movie plots. In fact, could we see an A-Force movie spinoff result from a large amount of the Avengers roster being women? Or would Marvel only go the route of making a majority of their superhero team female?

Either option seems like a fine one. There will definitely be a large number of new women heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the time another Avengers movie comes around. We know that She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel could be major characters in the future, and it is possible that Black Panther could become a woman in the next installment as well. Clearly, the path ahead for the Marvel Cinematic Universe includes a lot of female superheroes. It would make sense to bring as many of them together as possible for the next Avengers party.

There are even more women heroes to account for in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Widow is probably going to give us a brand new character in the Black Widow role after Scarlett Johansson. And Captain Marvel 2 is still on the schedule. Natalie Portman is going to be getting the powers of Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. Not to mention that Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek will likely be central figures in the upcoming Eternals. Essentially, there is a deep roster to pull from.

A lot of this will likely depend on which female superheroes are the most popular with audiences. Certain heroines like Scarlet Witch and Gamora have already proven to be over with fans, so it would make sense for them to pop up in a primarily female Avengers movie. If any of these upcoming female superheroes become extremely beloved, you can bet that Disney/Marvel will capitalize on that and put them in the next big team-up film.

We will have to wait and see if the next Avengers will feature a majority of women superheroes or not. There are plenty of great characters to pull from and it would be awesome to see characters like She-Hulk get their time to shine in the spotlight. Hopefully, we can get some confirmation about this rumor very soon.
