Marvel boss Kevin Feige rocked the house at this year’s Comic-Con, which took place back in July. He announced that MCU fans would be getting two Avengers movies in 2025 to close out Phase 6. The two features will arrive in theaters a mere six months apart. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will release on May 2nd, 2025, and Avengers: Secret Wars will hit theaters November 7th, 2025.

According to Deadline, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has now found its writer. Jeff Loveness, who recently penned the script for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has been tapped to write the next Avengers flick for Marvel. Loveness will join Destin Daniel Cretton, who was recently announced to be helming the movie. As expected, Kevin Feige will serve as producer.

Jeff Loveness has worked on a number of projects over the years, however, he is best known for writing on the popular animated series Rick & Morty, which airs on Adult Swim. Loveness is quite familiar with Kang, as he is the primary antagonist in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It makes sense that Marvel would want him on board the next Avengers, as the character is vital to the story.

We don’t know much about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as far as the storyline is concerned. We do know Lovecraft Country star Johnathan Majors will portray the character of Kang the Conqueror, who made his MCU debut in the finale of Loki season one. In the Disney+ series, he was known as “He Who Remains.” Aside from Majors, no other cast members have been announced.

Oddly enough, Avengers: Secret Wars is set to release six months after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on November 7th, 2025, and several actors have already been announced. Chris Hemsworth will appear as Thor, Brie Larson will appear as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani will appear as Ms. Marvel, and Hailee Steinfeld will appear as Kate Bishop. Secret Wars will serve as the final movie of Phase 6 and the end of the Multiverse Saga.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will wrap up Phase 4 with the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The highly anticipated follow-up arrives in theaters November 11th, 2022 and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Martin Freeman.

Wright’s Shuri is rumored to be taking over the Blank Panther mantel in the upcoming sequel. Chadwick Boseman, who originally portrayed the character, tragically passed away shortly after the release of Avengers: Endgame, following a long battle with colon cancer.

Kicking off Phase 5 of the MCU is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters February 17th, 2023. Peyton Reed, who helmed Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, will direct from the script by Jeff Loveness. Kang the Conqueror will play a significant role in the picture, which will undoubtedly lead to an even larger role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

With nearly a dozen movies scheduled to release between now and 2025, the MCU is bigger than ever. Although Phase 4 has had somewhat of a slow start, we expect things will kick into high gear come Phase 5, particularly with two Avengers films arriving in the same year. The road map has already been laid out. We’ll just have to wait and see how all of the pieces fall into place.
