The White Lotus actress Aubrey Plaza is a busy woman, and it doesn’t look like she will be slowing down anytime soon. Currently filming Megalopolis, a Francis Ford Coppola sci-fi drama, Plaza revealed to Deadline exactly how long she has been working at this pace.  “I’ve been busy for 10 years. A lot of things that I’ve done are all coming out at the same time.”

Earlier this year, Aubrey Plaza received critical acclaim for her role in Emily the Criminal. Plaza produced and starred in this film which made its debut at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. She was overwhelmed by the positive reviews for the film, believing these are the most positive reviews of her career at this point.

Emily the Criminal was a quick shoot, 20 days in Los Angeles and one day in Mexico. The film follows the story of Emily, a college graduate with massive student debt who is unable to find work. She then becomes embroiled in a credit card scam. Aubrey Plaza was praised for her role and the film for its social commentary.

In January 2022, it was announced that Aubrey Plaza would join the cast of HBO’s anthology series The White Lotus for its second season, which was filming in Italy. She was cast as Harper, the wife of Ethan Spiller, played by Will Sharpe, a couple who are guests at the White Lotus resort.

Aubrey Plaza shared that filming in Sicily was incredible. For her role in The White Lotus, she spent four months in Italy, and the views from the luxury hotel were breathtaking.

Her career began with improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UBC) located in Manhattan, which was started impart by Aubrey Plaza’s Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler. UBC is a theatre company that is also a training center offering sessions teaching various comedy skills.

She is well known for her role as April Ludgate on the NBC series Parks and Recreation. Aubrey Plaza is also known for her roles in Safety Not Guaranteed, which was her first feature film, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Child’s Play.

Fans can hear Aubrey Plaza’s voice work in FX’s adult animated series Little Demon, where she plays Laura Feinberg, a woman who gives birth to Satan’s daughter. The series also stars Danny DeVito, who plays Satan and his real-life daughter Lucy Devito voices his on-screen daughter.

Another exciting upcoming role for Aubrey Plaza will be in Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos. This series will air on Disney+ and is a spinoff of the wildly popular WandaVision. Deadline asked the actress if she could confirm whether or not she plays a villain in this series.

Aubrey Plaza’s response “No, I can’t confirm anything. Are you kidding? The Marvel machine? I’m not allowed to say anything. I’m not trying to get fired from that job before I start. I’m going to start 2023 with Coven of Chaos. Who knows what’s going to happen?”

Aubrey Plaza has several other upcoming projects, including Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, an action comedy that premieres January 12, 2023. She will star with Miles Teller in the animated, The Ark and the Aardvark and in Olga Dies Dreaming, a drama series.

Aubrey Plaza has been busy since her move to Los Angeles over 10 years ago, and her long list of upcoming projects reflects that she won’t be able to take a break for quite some time.
