Netflix has released the first action-packed trailer for the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led series FUBAR. The story follows everyone’s favorite Terminator as Luke Brunner, a CIA operative on the edge of retirement, who is tasked with finding a lost agent. He reluctantly takes the job only to discover that the person he is searching for is his daughter, Emma. While trying to reconcile that their entire relationship is a lie, the pair team up to take down a greater evil.

The trailer features several action-packed sequences coupled with some hilarious father-daughter moments. Series creator and showrunner Nick Santora described the series as the most surreal project of his career. “I grew up watching Arnold Schwarzenegger films, so creating the first scripted television project [FUBAR] for Arnold is unbelievably exciting for me,” he said in a statement via Deadline.

Santora added that he’s always been amazed at how Arnold Schwarzenegger “could be funny while still kicking a**,” a skill that is showcased in FUBAR. “That’s why I wanted [the series] to be hysterical,” the showrunner continued. “CIA-spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action! And it is all that – and more.” The creative didn’t give away too many additional details stating that they’re “classified.”

Marking Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first foray into television, FUBAR is set for release on May 25. The series consists of eight episodes with a run time of 60 minutes each. The show also features the talented Monica Barbaro as Emma. The actress most recently appeared in Top Gun: Maverick and was one of the few people who didn’t throw up while training for the flight sequences.

Starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro in FUBAR is Jay Baruchel as Carter, Aparna Brielle as Tina, Andy Buckley as Donnie, Milan Carter as Barry, and Fortune Feimster as Ruth. The action-comedy series also features Barbara Eve Harris as Dot, Gabriel Luna as Boro, Fabiana Udenio as Tally, and Travis Van Winkle as Aldon.

Speaking about his new venture, Arnold Schwarzenegger said FUBAR is perfect for fans of the iconic action comedy True Lies. The 1994 film, which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis, shares some qualities with the new series. The story follows a secret government agent named Harry Tasker who struggles to keep his job as a spy from clashing with his family duties.

“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies,” Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a statement about FUBAR. “Well, here it is!” he added, describing the series as a kick a** story that will make you laugh. “And not just for two hours; you get a whole season,” he continued.

Arnold Schwarzenegger described working on FUBAR as a “joy” and is excited to give fans what they’ve been waiting for. Away from television, the actor can be seen in the upcoming martial arts comedy Kung Fury 2. Directed by David Sandberg from a screenplay he co-wrote with Tyler Burton Smith, the movie serves as a sequel to his 2015’s Kung Fury.

Starring alongside David Sandberg as Kung Fury is Michael Fassbender as Colt Magnum, Arnold Schwarzenegger as The President, Ralf Moeller as Thor, and Alexandra Shipp as Rey Porter. Jorma Taccone, Leopold Nilsson, Eleni Young, and David Hasselhoff also lend their talents to the project. The film is currently in post-production with no release date.
