If you thought slapping was specifically reserved for “Slapsgiving” (thank you, How I Met Your Mother), you’d be sorely mistaken. In case you missed it, “Slap Fighting” (or slap offs as they should be called), has been a movement gaining momentum over the past few years. And now, the man who brought us one of the most iconic films in action history, The Terminator, as well as an eight-year stint as the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will be joining YouTube celebrity, Logan Paul, to host the Slap Fighting Championships. The games will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022, as part of the yearly Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus Ohio’s Convention Center. An annual event that draws some of the bulkiest humans on the face of the planet to the state’s capital city, this year’s fest will be happening March 3-6.

Standing at the helm of slap city, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Logan Paul will be the personalities keeping viewers up to date on every painful smack that happens during the showdown. If you’re interested in catching it online, viewers will be able to stream the event live at 2 p.m. ET on Fanmio as well as (of course) on Logan Paul’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Live page. Unsure of what you’d be getting yourself into by tuning in for this bizarre new sport? Let’s walk through it.

A high pain activity, two contenders face off against one another with one standing directly in front of the other. Hit by hit, the duo take turns absolutely demolishing their opponent’s face until one of them falls over due to the sheer power of the slap. Originally taking off in Russia, the popularity of this strange sport quickly spread all over Eastern Europe before making its way overseas to the United States.

Already a fan of the brutal face game and want to know if your favorite slapper will be taking a stance in the competition? The lineup that you can expect to see at the Slap Fighting Championship will be three-time PunchDown champ, Dawid “Zales” Zalewski, Koa “Da Crazy Hawaiian” Viernes, Maksymilian “Mad Max” Lesniak, Nikolas “Predator” Toth, Adrianna Flychanelle” Sledz, and Julia Kruzner. There are some pretty sweet nicknames in there (get on it Kruzner) which leads us to believe that these competitors will not only have larger-than-life slaps, but also over-the-top personalities. By the sound of it, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Logan Paul are going to have the time of their lives calling shot for shot.

A bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, attends the Arnold Classic every year to meet with spectators and fellow sports enthusiasts, as well as cheer on contenders during their events. Fans of the bodybuilding community that buy tickets to the games can take a stroll through the convention center and pose with their favorite muscle man or woman. There’s even a statue of a young Schwarzenegger outside the Convention Center that you can take a photo with! This year, if you can’t make the festivities, be sure to tune into the streaming platforms to see the Slap Fighting Championships, or possibly even more entertaining, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s reaction to the madness.
