Will the boss from Hell make a comeback? According to Yahoo, Anne Hathaway has some ideas about how to continue the story of The Devil Wears Prada. The actress pontificated on The View about what its characters may be doing in the more than 15 years after the hit 2006 movie, and hinted at reboot possibilities, although nothing is set in stone.

The proposal about what the characters might be doing in 2022 was in response to a question while interviewing about her upcoming movie Armageddon Time. Alyssa Farah Griffin asked her about a potential sequel to the movie, and while Anne Hathaway had ideas about what another Devil Wears Prada movie might be about, she also had doubts about how to implement it on-screen. After all, the movie was about producing a magazine, and these days, digital media is in higher demand.

She did reveal that she could envision the two harried assistants “getting Miranda her coffee,” traveling Europe with their boss, and meeting up with Nigel. She also speculated that while a sequel was tempting, a reboot with new actors could be more viable. Nothing formal is in the works, however.

The movie is about working for the fictional Miranda Priestly, the very demanding editor of a high-profile fashion magazine, who Meryl Streep plays. Anne Hathaway plays Andy Sachs, Miranda’s newest intern, in The Devil Wears Prada, and Miranda challenges her to the brink of her aspirations as she rushes to fulfill the editor’s every need. Emily Blunt co-stars and Emily, Miranda’s other assistant, and Stanley Tucci plays Nigel, the magazine’s art director.

The movie received a lot of critical acclaim, garnering a Metascore of 62 and an audience rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. It won Meryl Streep an Oscar for Best Actress for playing its ambitiously cutthroat titular character. For Anne Hathaway, The Devil Wears Prada was one of the first movies that proved that The Princess Diaries star could emerge as an actress in adulthood.

Since being in the famous fashion movie, Anne Hathaway has also met the woman who was the inspiration for Lauren Weisberger’s novel The Devil Wears Prada, upon which the film is based. During New York Fashion Week, Anne Hathaway was seated next to Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue, to who, Weisberger was once an assistant. Wintour famously showed up to a 2021 charity screening of The Devil Wears Prada dressed in Prada.

As fate would have it, Anne Hathaway was dressed in a familiar outfit when she sat next to Anna Wintour. Because of a slight mishap involving shoes that never arrived, Anne Hataway was wearing an outfit very similar to the one she wears at the end of The Devil Wears Prada when she sat next to Anna Wintour. While the two women chatted about tennis, they did not discuss the accidental reference to the movie during their time together.

Armageddon Time co-stars Jeremy Strong, Anthony Hopkins, Banks Repeta, and Jaylin Webb. The movie will be in theaters on November 4, 2022. It is unclear if Anne Hathaway will make a return to her biggest role, but the film can be seen by streaming The Devil Wears Prada with a subscription to Peacock.
