Alison Brie is an actress with a big career, but she’s got her eyes set on more. In an interview with Collider promoting her new series, Alison Brie revealed a dream role of hers, and it sounds awesome. The role in question is Miss Scarlet in ClueThe 1985 comedy thriller is based on the Hasbro board game of the same name. As it turns out, Alison Brie is a big fan of the film and if ever there was a remake, Brie would love to have a crack at portraying the sexy and playful Miss Scarlet. “Oh, God. I think that my whole life, I have fantasized about playing Miss Scarlet.”

You can see an iconic scene from the original Clue below, where Miss Scarlett in a green dress wields a revolver in the foyer.

Alison Brie could have had her wish granted, as some years ago, a remake of Clue was announced with Ozark’s Jason Bateman to direct and star alongside Ryan Reynolds, based on a script written by Reynold’s Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Unfortunately, as of last year, Ryan Reynolds has serious doubts the film will ever get made, as reported by Collider, the Clue remake looks like a victim of the Disney/Fox merger. “I don’t know if we’re ever going to end up ever getting that made. It’s one of those things that in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox, I’m not sure we’ll ever get to, but we’ll see hopefully down the road.”

It looks like Alison Brie might miss out on achieving her lifelong dream of portraying Miss Scarlet. However, the GLOW actress did in fact get to work alongside the original Miss Scarlet (Oscar nominee Lesley Ann Warren) and Colonel Mustard (Primetime Emmy nominee Martin Mull) from the original Clue movie in season six of Community. The actress told Collider, “It was a surreal moment, for sure.”

Alison Brie will surely be satisfied with missing out on the role of Miss Scarlet thanks to her appearance in Roar, which has afforded her the opportunity to work with GLOW creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch once again. She has said in recent interviews that reuniting with them gave her some closure after GLOW’s sudden cancellation.

Alison Brie’s episode in the Apple anthology series has her character playing detective in the afterlife having been murdered in a risqué bunny outfit. Brie’s ghost takes center stage on her episode, but other episodes in the series feature the work of household names such as Nicole Kidman, Betty Gilpin, Merritt Wever, Issa Rae and Meera Syal. Each episode of the anthology series finds a leading lady overcoming an intriguing issue, with episode titles such as The Woman Who Disappeared, The Woman Who Ate Photographs and The Woman Who Was Kept on a Shelf. All episodes are out now on Apple TV+ and are derived from a collection of short stories written by Cecelia Ahern. The new series is currently performing well amongst critics according to Rotten Tomatoes, though the audience score remains a low 36%. You can see the trailer for the show below.

One can’t help but wonder how awesome Alison Brie would be in the role of Miss Scarlet if a Clue remake ever did get off the ground. Throw Ryan Reynolds and Jason Batemen into the mix and there are the makings of a hit. Alas, it may never come to pass, but at least for GLOW and Alison Brie fans, Roar is proving to be an interesting watch.
