Zendaya recently hopped on her Instagram story to wish her Dune co-star Timothee Chalamet a happy birthday. The two stars are in the midst of a photoshoot here, but this candid shot captured a goofy moment from Chalamet while Zendaya is getting ready for the next shot. Of course, both stars look great and camera-ready as always.

Although Timothee Chalamet has had an incredible year that’s definitely worth celebrating, Zendaya might just have him beat as far as accomplishments go. She entered 2022 fresh off the premiere of her latest MCU appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which managed to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time going into the New Year. She then returned to her hit HBO series Euphoria for the show’s second season.

The second season of Euphoria was just as hugely popular as the first and Zendaya even managed to outdo her Emmy-winning season 1 performance. Of course, she ended up winning another Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her second-season efforts. The show also pulled in five more wins at the Emmys for editing, cinematography, choreography, makeup, and Oustanding Guest Actor for Colman Domingo.

While Euphoria was the only performance we got to see from Zendaya this year, we do get to see her in at least two major projects in 2023. Of course, the biggest of these projects is the follow-up to Dune, Dune: Part Two. Going off the storyline from Frank Herbert’s novel, we should be seeing much more of her character Chani in the second film.

At the end of Dune, we saw Timothee Chalamet’s exiled Paul Atreides prove himself to the nomadic Freman and finally meet Zendaya’s Chani after seeing visions of her throughout the film. Dune: Part Two will continue following Paul’s quest for revenge against the Harkonnens. Denis Villeneuve returns to direct the incredible cast that also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, Florence Pugh, and Austin Butler.

Zendaya is also set to star in Challengers, the next film from acclaimed director Luca Guadagnino, who recently released his latest film Bones and All with Timothee Chalamet. Challengers is written by Justin Kuritzkes and will follow three tennis players who knew each other as teenagers competing in a tournament to become the grand slam winner. The film will also star Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.

Unfortunately, we have a little while to wait before we can see Zendaya in either of these films. Challengers has the closest release date, with an expected August 11, 2023, release. Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two won’t be coming out until November 3, 2023.

Although Euphoria was renewed for a third season, it seems unlikely that we’ll get more episodes in 2023 with no official release date announced yet. For now, you can check out Zendaya’s Emmy-winning performance in Euphoria on HBO Max. You can also check out Dune on the platform if you want to catch up before the sequel comes out next year.
