Vanessa Hudgens recently celebrated her birthday with an adorable social media post. The High School Musical star happily posed in a semi-sheer blue dress, while holding a bunch of pastel-colored balloons. The actress paired her outfit with white boots and gold drop earrings. She also kept her makeup simple and wore her hair in a slick, up style.
“Thanks for the birthday love,” she wrote in the accompanying caption. The comments section of the post was filled with more admiration for Vanessa Hudgens. “Celebrating you is easy,” one person said, while others just shared several heart emojis.
The actress turned 34 on December 14th. But some of her closest friends honored the Tick, Tick… Boom! star in their own social media posts.
The sweetest message came from Sarah Hyland who shared her love for Vanessa Hudgens in a series of photos. The pictures were all taken during the Modern Family alum’s wedding to Wells Adams, where the 34-year-old was a bridesmaid. “We’re tiny and mischievous,” Hyland wrote.
She added that after more than a decade of knowing each other she is still obsessed with their wild adventures.
Vanessa Hudgens replied with a simple “I love you so much,” in the comments. The photos are just as adorable as Hyland’s caption suggests. One image features the best friends holding bouquets of flowers while looking at each other mischievously.
Another sees the pair sharing a warm embrace at The Wedding Year actress’s wedding.
And the final shot showcases Vanessa Hudgens in a silky mauve gown while Hyland, whose back is to the camera, shows off her ivory silk Vera Wang Haute Couture wedding dress. Following the ceremony, which (People says) took place at the Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbara, the Powerless star reflected on the day with a more candid photo. “Words can’t express how happy I am for you,” she wrote. “I am so proud to be your friend.”
Away from the social media love fest with Sarah Hyland, Vanessa Hudgens has a new project in the works. The actress will appear in the upcoming drama film, Downtown Owl. Directed by Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater from a script by the latter, the movie is based on the 2008 Chuck Klosterman novel of the same name.
Set in 1983, the Vanessa Hudgens movie takes place in the fictional town of Owl, North Dakota, and follows three intangibly, connected residents. The first is an old man named Horace who spends his time reminiscing about the good old days at a local coffee shop. Then there’s Mitch, a depressed high school backup quarterback.
Rounding out the trio is Julia, an English teacher who works at the local high school. When a whiteout blizzard hits the town, their lives are upended along with the rest of Owl’s residents.
Along with Vanessa Hudgens, Downtown Owl stars Ed Harris as Horace, Lily Rabe as Julia, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Mitch. Henry Golding and Finn Wittrock also appear in the movie, along with the High School Musical alum, remains unknown. The project is currently being filmed and no release date is available at this time.
