Sophie Thatcher is best known for appearing in the breakout Showtime series Yellowjackets, but it also seems that she has a burgeoning career as a model ahead of her. In this recent post on her official Instagram, the Book of Boba Fett star showed off a red floral dress while dramatically posing next to a dark gray automobile. While Sophie Thatcher’s career might just be beginning, it is clear that she already has an expert knowledge of all her angles, and it certainly shows.
The first photo in the set sees Sophie Thatcher against a midsize, with her short dark hair (styled by Dallin James) hanging around her face. Her makeup is by Nicole Maguire, and while there is not a tag for the designer of the dress, we applaud whoever came up with it. The second photo in the set reveals Sophie Thatcher now in the back seat of the car, but looking no less dramatically gorgeous for it.
Sophie Thatcher stars on Showtime’s Yellowjackets as Natalie, a member of a team of championship soccer players in the 1990s who become stranded in the Canadian wilderness after a horrific plane crash. During their time there, it becomes increasingly clear that the team resorts to horrific means to stay alive, with not every member managing to make it back home. Over the course of the acclaimed first season, it also seems that some kind of supernatural force may be interfering with their desperate attempts to find their way to civilization.
Yellowjackets also takes place over two time periods, with the high school team’s time in the Canadian wilderness being contrasted with their current-day lives, mostly trying to leave the past behind. While Sophie Thatcher plays the troubled Natalie in the 1990s, Juliette Lewis plays her as a grown woman struggling with addiction issues. In addition to Sophie Thatcher and Juliette Lewis, Yellowjackets stars Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Ella Purnell.
Shockingly, Yellowjackets was completely snubbed at the recent 74th Primetime Emmys Awards, despite its critical acclaim and a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite that, the upcoming second season of the show is hotly anticipated, with viewers hoping for some answers about well, did cannibalism happen or not. The second season of the show is still quite a bit aways, but we are hoping to see Sophie Thatcher and the rest of the team back in action soon.
In addition to her starring role on Yellowjackets, Sophie Thatcher appeared in the first season of the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett as Drash, the leader of a group of cyborgs who ally with the title character as he attempts to form a criminal empire. The series is part of Lucasfilm’s increased commitment to developing the Star Wars brand in the form of streaming shows, rather than feature films (which it seems to be cutting down by the day). Hopefully Drash will be returning for a second season of the show, but we will have to wait and see what Kathleen Kennedy says.
