See Sofia Vergara Partying In A Tight Mini Dress

A party with Sofia Vergara is a party that probably anyone would want to attend. The actress recently took to Instagram to post some shots from a recent trip she took with her family to NYC. The trip seemed to be filled with nights out, party bus dancing, and good times all around.
Sofia Vergara’s Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson got in on the fun too over social media, commenting “This looks like nothing but trouble.” Though the massively successful sitcom ended its run back in 2020, it’s clear the co-stars still have a lot of love between them. Since Modern Family ended, Sofia Vergara has frequently graced our small screens as a judge on America’s Got Talent, which aired its most recent season finale last month.
Since Modern Family ended in 2020, Sofia Vergara has really only had one big acting gig as the antagonist in the animated film Koati which was released in 2021. However, that will be changing very soon as Vergara will be leaving a Netflix mini-series in the near future called Griselda. The mini-series tells the real-life story of Griselda Blanco, a Colombian woman who created and ran one of the most profitable cartels in history.
Sofia Vergara will be starring as Griselda Blanco aka the “Black Widow” in the series. Andrés Baiz is directing the series and executive producing with Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard executive producing. Ingrid Escajeda will be serving as showrunner with a cast that includes Vanessa Ferlito, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Alberto Guerra, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Martin Rodriguez, José Zúñiga, Maximiliano Hernández, and Julieth Restrepo.
Deadline reported a first look of Sofia Vergara as Griselda and it definitely looks like a transformative role for the Colombian actress. While Vergara was nominated at the Emmys four times for her performance as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in Modern Family, she never managed to take home a win. Perhaps Griselda will be Vergara’s chance to finally get some Emmy gold.
Interestingly enough, Sofia Vergara isn’t the only actress who will be portraying Griselda Blanco on screen in the near future. Jennifer Lopez will also bring her own version of the character to the film The Godmother, which chronicles the rise and fall of Blanco. The Godmother will be directed by Reed Morano (The Handmaid’s Tale) with a screenplay by Regina Corrado (Deadwood) and Terence Winter (The Sopranos, The Wolf of Wall Street).
It’ll be interesting to see both Sofia Vergara’s and Jennifer Lopez’s take on this infamous character from cartel history. While neither film has a release date, Griselda started filming in January and The Godmother is currently in the pre-production stages. It wouldn’t be surprising if they both have similar release windows, so we might get some very different portrayals of Blanco and takes on her story around the same time.
